Picture #11: After his defection, Igor Gouzenko gained a lot of publicity as the man who started the Cold War. Many televisions and radio stations started to request interviews with him, and he participated in many of them as shown in this picture of Igor Gouzenko on television with Canadian CFGM radio’s Ken Ross in 1968. Although he could never reveal his true identity due to the threat of Soviet reprisal, he still did attend these interviews by covering his face with a white pillow case, which eventually became his symbol.
