 In Blackmore's opinion, this wasn't ‘okay’ in the slightest, even if the Asian woman stated it as fact in such an even voice. His first paycheck had mostly been spent on clothes, if he was going to work for the senator, he would need some that were not mostly patches and the coat had caught his attention. It was comfortable. It was nondescript. It was bland.

 It was also much more unwieldy than he had thought, flowy enough to swing when he moved, heavy enough to knock over… whatever it had been. He hadn't even noticed, startled enough by the maid's presence to back into a low cabinet. What a start to make after he had been useless for a solid two months to begin with.
