LotR x Hobbit Day - there’s just some fandoms that i find really intimidating, regarding the content that comes out of it, so i was really nervous posting this because i wasn’t sure how it would perform lol

Hadestown "Aesthetics" - i wish i knew how to recreate this magic, but i think this photoset is one of the rare occasions you will see all elements of what makes peak jessi come together

Semantic Error x Ep Two - i was really proud of how the series shaped up, but i really liked how the themes of the ep itself resonated into this edit

Vice Versa x Official Trailer - ive only told a couple people about this but when i was in art school, i did a semester long exploration of memory/nostalgia and a major part of my body of work is the "spiral" in my childhood photographs. when i saw the trailer for this series do the exact same thing, thats when i knew that the show i claimed suddenly claimed ME

Underlying Themes/Experiences in Universal Travel (p1/p2) - this was so outside of the norm from all the web weaves ive done for vice versa (i speak more on why i made them in the og tags). just last month, beloved mutual @lulabo rb the first one and tagged it “#this could really be a body horror show if you wanted it to be #i am afraid to own a body #i am afraid to own a soul” and im still haunted by that

4. what’s your five’s favorite weapon I WAS HOPING someone would ask me this because I was doing a lot of thinking about this recently. This was always tricky because my Five is essentially me and I’m not a huge fan of the idea of using weapons. That being said, the zombie apocalypse would likely force me to sort out my priorities. SO I’m thinking a bat. It can definitely do damage against the zoms, you don’t have to worry as much about aim as you would need to with other weapons, or getting too close to your target (in comparison to a knife/dagger or something like that). It’s also funny because it’s very American and hey lol. But if my Five ever got her hands on a sword though, she would be so giddy because it’s like a bat but COOLER and SHARP.

6. what’s a non-important item your five always looks for on runs tbh I think her eyes are always open for flannel shirts that aren’t currently being worn by zoms. Probably also just different forms of media like books and movies and such as well. Especially Disney films--Five will pretend it’s more for the kids at Abel but she knows that she’ll be sitting there watching as well trying not to sing along to Tangled. It’s good to have as much of a variety as you can with what you can get your hands on post z-day.

18. what’s the meanest thing your five has ever done Damn this question has me stumped. She’s not a mean person by nature, I think she’s more unintentionally mean if anything, or maybe gets a bit snippy with people when she’s tired or in pain. When she’s still getting used to Abel, I think she comes off as more stand-off-ish or mean (unintentionally) just because she’s very quiet and she’s not used to the people yet.  But once Abel becomes more of a home to her she slowly gives off a more hey-you-can-talk-to-me vibe.

6. what’s a non-important item your five always looks for on runs

Since booze is definitely important, mostly pretty stationary and nice underwear. The apocalypse is dour and hard but damn if Five isn’t going to chronicle it on watermarked paper with a fountain pen while feeling fabulous. 

(a few stores also make adorable stuff for children and my Five likes to bring back presents.)

basically what thelukeskywalkers said. also, i hated how half the plot was caused by holdo not sharing the damn plan for no logical reason.

it was stupid, yeah - i kept thinking “just share your goddamn plan with him instead of being so fucking cryptic” - but realistically, it did make sense - she didn’t have the same kind of close relationship with poe like leia had, so she had no good reason to share her plans with him - but it did went on way too long; i think it’d have been better, in terms of writing quality and interesting progression of plot, to have poe find out about the plan in some accidental way - it was just frustrating as a viewer to feel so stupid about all the wasted tension when the plan was revealed and the pieces fell into place and poe (and us, naturally siding with poe) was made to realize that he was wrong so like, i understand why it was done and i think it made sense, but it got dragged way too long and could’ve been handled better, with that i agree tony-buddenbrook

i didn't like it because of messy storylines. I liked Luke stuff, I liked the idea that people CAN be bad and good at the same time. If I heard that it was a dark side of Luke, part of dark force in him, I'd like it even more, but oh well. Also stuff about Poe was REALLY bad, he was worse then Kylo Ren, and it was weird

the idea that people can be bad and good at the same time was one of the most major  things that i loved about the movie and i think it was super important and am so glad that it was included as for luke - but the fact that he does have a “dark side” was part of the whole point, wasn’t it? him contemplating to murder ben, even just briefly? that was his darkness peeking through - that moment of darkness that had such a huge impact on ben as for poe - there were plenty of bad writing choices there, yeah - but like i said in the previous post, since in tfa i had 0 connection to poe and felt like he had 0 personality whatsoever, ultimately i was glad to finally have him get his own plotline with actual traits and motives and relationships

I thought Luke was ooc (mark hamill has been outspoken about how he completely disagreed with the way Rian wrote his character) women and poc were sidelined and poorly written so kylo ren could be the main focus of the story and Rian Johnson openly said how he wrote the script before watching the force awakens and didn't care about what the audience wanted. I'm happy you like it though! I don't think there's anything wrong with liking or disliking the movie!
