55. Collapsed

Mac walked ahead at a steady pace. Unaware the distance between them was growing. Regardless of grit and determination, Jack was falling behind.

His gear was heavy. The familiar weight of armor-plating threatened to take his legs out from under him. His knees shook with each step.

As he slid across the brick exterior of the building, he was thankful their mission was urban. Out in the open and he wouldn’t be on his feet.

Without warning, his boot caught a crack in the blacktop. Unable to keep his tenuous balance or catch himself, Jack collapsed to the pavement in a cacophony of flying gravel and tactical gear scraping the building.

As his head hit the ground, he heard Mac’s heavy boots running toward him.

“Jack!”

1. Nick listening to the disc man on the floor and Catherine pats his hair. 😍😍 (livin' vicariously)

2. When he says "Mi ven acá" and makes the come-here hand gesture. (I think I melted)
