I just started making Alpha patterns. Any advice for a beginner?
Alpha patterns as in knotted bracelets? Because this one was actually done with beads.Â
For knotted ones I would say strings too long are always better than strings that are too short. Your bottom strings won't be used up nearly as much as with normal patterns and it really helps if you measure out a lot of your top color and just wind it up on a spool. If you can master it, when you do bracelets with more than two colors, have multiple top strings (the ones you just go back and forth with) and it will keep everything a lot neater.Â
And I guess for beads don't pull the elastic very tightly and always double over your thread.Â
Seems like sound advice for people interested in either craft I think
