Old tram depot in Blackpool.
It used to be the main depot, until the construction of the new one at Starr Gate. Despite its name, it only provides access to Blackpool, Cleveleys and Fleetwood.
Starr Gate, Tram terminus.
The start of the sand dunes.
These two plaques from 1926 and 2001 might seem to be celebrating the rebuilding of different stretches of promenade, but they are not. Squires Gate is a larger area including Starr Gate and in this case they refer to the same spot. Victoria Pier is the previous name of South Pier.
The 1926 plaque mentions a peer of the realm and some local officials. The 2001 plaque mentions a government minister, some local officials, an engineer, the council and some building companies. Times change.
If a new plaque is erected in 2076, it might mention some robots. Or it might not be erected because the place could be under the Irish Sea.
