There's no easy way to say this. I'm going to be posting this message here as well as on the Kickstarters. Unfortunately, Star Palace is officially losing it's music, and the last four chapters will have to continue on without it.
Our composer, Hailey (aka Disneydork) has been caught tracing a bunch of her artwork. Oddly enough, this is the person I mentioned in that last livestream who we caught tracing backgrounds as well. A quick TL;DR of that situation is:
She came to me offering to do backgrounds for $100 each. I raised the money through a Kickstarter. She traced two and gave them to me. We immediately caught her tracing. I tried to be professional and I basically just... ate that $200. We took the rest of the money and put it towards the music instead.
She is technically paid through chapter 9, however there have also been LOTS of problems with the quality of the music production since then. I originally was planning on holding her to what she was paid for, getting her to finish, and then moving on to the next project without her. However, now that it's coming out that she's been tracing most of her artwork's backgrounds, posting them, trying to SELL them on Redbubble, and all kinds of unsavory things... I can't hold onto her any longer. The best thing to do for the project at this point is to move on.
Unfortunately I can't ask for the money back, so we're about $600 out in production costs. I do DEEPLY apologize to those of you that had backed that past Kickstarter that included the backgrounds in it. I can't help but feel that I let some of you down with this. I know it's very disappointing.
