Hey, friends!
As I told you all in the stream, I now have a (slight) sponsor: Magic Candle Company! Included in this link is my discount code for your purchases. I also, just for funsies, looked through their entire website and picked out scents that I think would fit our ideas of what the Gartha and Star Palace characters would smell like. None of these are official with MCC, but I thought it would be something fun for all of you to go through, especially if you'd like to get yourselves some candles that remind you of your favorite characters.
My Discount Code is: CalenMCC15

NOTE: Magic Candle Company is in no way associated with Tales of Gartha, Star Palace, or Star Rabbit Media. This list is just for funsies, a

Martha: What thing?
Washington: You know, the thing that makes me happy
Martha: Oh
Martha: :)
Washington, softly: thank you
Hello again! Can't keep me out of the ask box forever! I'm a slippery lil' buggar. Anyhoo! I was just wondering, for those who have missed bits and pieces (me included) what does our Tales Of Gartha main cast look like? Who is part of it, and where can I- I mean... everyone who may be interested, go to see their beautiful faces in art form?
You know, I can share their turn-arounds here. I don't think I've ever shared the art here. Just over on my youtube.
This is Sunniva. He's our main character, and despite his current lack of wings, he's a moth. His species is something called a Fable, which is Gartha's form of fairy. They're all based off of moths, specifically, and he's based off of an owl-eyed moth.
This is Ery's old turn-around, but honestly, this one needs to be updated at this point. Her booty needs to be BIGGER and her forehead needs to be smaller. Also her little curl should be a little bigger.
But this is Ery's ACTUAL canon. She was just supposed to be like an easter egg in Star Palace, but she became pivotal to who Mirage was as a character.
Then there are her adopted children, the twins:
So this is Charade. He's far more quiet, likes to just sit and read, and do research. He's for sure a mama's boy. He loves spending time with Ery and really looks up to her.
And this is Nimble, his little whore brother. Nimble comes across as SUPER gay, but is actually the only straight character in the cast. He loves BIG women. Like, twice his height with the ability to crush his head between her warrior thighs? ABSOLUTELY, sign him the fuck up.
Muscular women, squishy, women, doesn't matter. He just loves women who could break him in half. Give him a warrior woman any day of the week.
Both of the twins were losely based off of the characters from NiGHTS into Dreams (because lol funny jester) and also Cirque Du Soleil outfits. Charade's cloak, and Nimble's outfit in general are based on Cirque outfits.
This is Ery's cat. This over 9 foot tall mechanical monstrosity is Ery's cat. His name is Slink.
There is another character, but she might actually be cut from the final production because things have shifted to the point where her character just straight up might not be necessary anymore.
Which means the cast is a bit of a sausage fest. lol
More Fable designs? More fable designs!
I designed the boyo on the right first. His name is Willow, and he's an African Peach Moth. Meaning, his favorite food is absolutely peaches! He is Hex's apprentice, and is more or less also his adopted little brother. While Hex is far more out-going, Willow is incredibly quiet. His voice is more often than not completely monotone. He also has a funny little habit of speaking entirely in 3rd person. So it sounds more like he's telling a story about someone rather than speaking directly to them.
His two main interests are the ocean, and his greenhouse full of rare and exotic plants.
While I drew his wings more open so everyone could see the entire pattern as much as possible, his wings are usually down when he's not using them, much like the woman on the left.
Speaking of which: Her name is Maple.
Because, you know, Rosy Maple Moth. It's a bit unoriginal, but she's so sweet that she deserves a sweet-sounding name. Maple works in the fable kingdom's temple, and is in charge of all of the orphans there. She also has a few kids of her own. Due to a certain event in their history (NO SPOILERS) there are a LOT of orphans. Even still, she does her best to give them all of the love they need to grow.
The fable temple holds shrines for many of the different gods, and there is no discrimination on who anyone choses to primarily pray to. Maple herself prays to the wind god, which is shown by all of the swirly patterns on her outfit.
Her bracelets are made out of seed pods and make a soft, pleasant "shaka shaka" kind of noise when she shakes them.
Both Maple and Willow are southern fables. The northern fables have some distinct differences to them.

Having a fun little Gartha stream with Doof, Reed, Gknight, and Mike!
We start in 20 minutes. Make sure you don't miss it!
Question about Gartha: Was Sunny born similar to a human baby, or do fables lay eggs like moths? If the latter, then did Sunny start as a larvae-like baby. Did sunny have to go into a cocoon to gain his wings?
So Fables do lay eggs, but considerably less than a normal moth. Only about 3-4 at most. Not all of them survive. Usually only 1-2 makes it, so it's a better omen if they lay 4 eggs. It means they'll for sure wind up with at least 1 healthy child. But the eggs are very fragile and are usually placed in special woven baskets with soft, comfortable material inside.
The eggs hatch within 4-10 days of being laid, and the babies are incredibly small at first. They aren't larvae-like, but they are very squishy and chubby looking. The laying basket can also be used to transport the babies in public, if need be, but one of the parents usually stays home with them to keep them protected until they are at least a couple of months old and the parents feel safer taking them out.
At that point, they are placed inside of special baby-wraps on the parent's chest. Though the wraps are tied in a way that keeps the parent's wings free and they can fly, they prefer not to fly with their little grubs until they're at least 6-8 months old.
ALSO, they have "baby colors." Fables start out the same color as whatever the caterpillar of the moth they're based on looks like. So they may start out with stripes and lose those stripes over time. Usually they have their adult colors by the age of 11. Kind of like a child losing its baby teeth and getting its adult teeth.
Sunny's case is... a little special. But yes, they do go into a cocoon to gain their wings. They grow incredibly tired to the point of not being able to function, their bodies grow sticky, and the stickiness turns into a hard shell around them. Essentially, they take a 1-3 day nap depending on the type of Moth the Fable is, and then when they wake up and break out of the shell, they have their wings.
The wings are delicate just for the first couple of hours while they dry, but after that are shockingly strong. They don't rip, they don't freeze (though it is considerably harder to fly in cold/freezing weather), and it doesn't hurt to lay back on them or if someone accidentally sits on one. It really only hurts when they're pulled on.
The Fables usually get their wings any age between 13-15, and it's essentially their version of puberty.
Being based off of bugs, their life expectancy is shorter than other beings in Gartha. They usually only last till about 50-60 years old. The oldest Fable in the world is 68, and he literally looks like he's going to keel over any second. Mans looks like he's made out of dust.
Aha! A Shura question at last! So, Shura is a professional artist, did she aquire this title by going through schooling for it or qas it more of a, she taught herself, was really good, got hired by one person and then it went on?
And now I hide the Gartha question here, muahahaha. So, Slink. The name implies that Slink can stretch his limbs, is this the case, and if so, how far? (Toootally not planning fanart, dunno what you're talking 'bout)
Shura actually taught herself. Though her family didn't have the best computer or internet connection, she managed well enough with posting online and getting enough viewers to start selling her art. It was really her top client who launched her, and he pays for a good majority of her living expenses from his commissions alone. He was actually the main reason she moved to Japan: To be close enough to paint for him frequently and deliver by hand rather than shipping.
Her brother's schooling was the second deciding factor.
The possibilities are endless. That's all I'm gonna say.
