some concept art I did for the final battle! I’m currently working on this scene in the comic and it doesn’t look quite like this but it was a really great jumping off point for the final product.

The Star Keepers! First off, they're actual stars that can sometimes come down and take human form (which they do if they're burned out or weakened or generally just want a break after centuries of shining). They tend to stay away from human royals--the smart ones, do, anyway--and sometimes pop up and help a cartographer "adjust" their map (since all starkeepers know every inch of the known and unknown world). On very rare occasions they've been known to hook up with humans and have children, but this is rare since most of them are honestly rather arrogant and think of humans as insignificant grains in the sands of time.
