I hope we lived happily in our past lives.

I hope we met earlier and just fell faster and harder for each other

I hope I was a part of your life somehow even if in a small amount

I hope we tore eachother apart with our great love

I hope we spend one more lifetime, together and not make the same mistakes as before

I hope that naïve, silly me loves you earnestly again

A soft tune distracts me from continuing on my journey. I have never heard anything quite like it. I try and concentrate on the road ahead but the tune grows louder, I then realise it's a song. A high pitched voice as soft as the breeze in my hair growing louder by the minute. It seems to call me, somehow. I follow it. I have my map and besides there's nothing wrong in straying away for a little while, and I am sure the source of this hypnotising melody is nearby.

"Are you lost too?"

I smile at it. It looks at me almost as if it's returning the smile. It flys closer and decides to mount itself on my scalp. This gets a chuckle out of me.

"I guess we both are. Misery finds company as they say" I somewhat feel hope. Something i haven't in a long time. Maybe I am not so alone after all. Perhaps I should-

I am startled by a knock at my chamber's door. So is the nightingale as it flys away into the vast land.

"So long, little friend" There's another knock this time, followed by a "Your Majesty".

"Yes?"

"There's been a summon for all rulers in the land and the court would like to discuss the rules of it with you"

But I won't go searching for it

It is all yours for the taking after all my love

Fear reflected from his soul into his eyes. Fear is what he's feeling right now. Afraid of what's to come next. Good.

"I- I don't know!" A lie.

I sneer. I hate doing this. But I have to.

I make him look into my eyes. Hypnosis is my special skill after all. Just another mission. Another job

"Where is the emerald?" He relaxes.

"I was to return it to the royal court--I lost it mid-way--- I was afraid what would await me at the palace when I would return with the disappointing information so I ran! Please please don't kill me! I promise I can be useful"

He lost it. The incompetence. Is this the people the royal court hires? I might be better than this."You are lucky I am in a giving mood today. I won't kill you not yet. Go to sleep" He slips into an unconscious state. Humans are so easy to deal with.
