HISTORY

jordan was born a younger sister. from day one, that was apart of who she was. her family was nuclear, statistically normal. she grew up in a sunny suburb with her mother, her father, and her older brother, jack. they had a dog and they were the type of people to send out a christmas card. they road bikes together around their cul-de-sac and one night a month, would go out into the backyard to pretend they were roughing it in a beat up nylon tent.  when she went to school, she threw a fit when she realized that she wouldn’t get to be in the same class as jack. for the rest of the year, he walked her to class to try and soothe that.

jordan liked to say she didn’t need protecting. but she’s always had a big mouth. so, it’s always worked to her benefit to surround herself with people who’ll stick up for that. she made friends with tough girls who’s words bit harder than her’s, she stayed a few steps behind her brother, she dated the kind of boys that shot dirty looks to anyone who dared threaten their gal. she liked to say she didn’t need protecting, but she likes how it feels to have someone watching her back.

tw car accident, tw death. she was eighteen. jack was driving home from somewhere. she couldn’t tell you where from. she had been at the mall with friends. all she knew is by the time she made it home, he was gone. when she was dropped off, the cops were already at her house, explaining that he must have been texting or falling asleep or something. none of it added up --- if anything, he was over cautious behind the wheel. she remembered making fun of his “mamaw” approach to driving. but that didn’t change that it happened.

she’d already been accepted to stanford, so she went. it was good to keep her mind off things. she threw herself into anthropolgy ( ironically, studying the was, the exact thing she looked to avoid in her own life ). she joined greek life on a whim, but she’d be lying if she said she wasn’t swayed by the thought of having a whole new group to play sister to. she pledged theta sigma eta her freshman year and while she’s one of the girls who stays on the outside a little, she still appreciates the environment of it all.

and the parties. she appreciates them too. perhaps she goes a little overboard with them, but for a few hours, she gets to let go. she gets to be fun again, she gets to quit thinking so damn much and be a beer pong champ or cool jordan who dances with anyone who doesn’t want to go alone. it’s not the healthiest way to cope, but its where she’s at.

she lives off campus in an apartment loves her girlies but has to be able to have her own space to stare at the wall for hours on end.

she honestly has no idea what shes gonna do with her degree but other than parties and shit its what brings her the most joy anymore like she knows nobody cares but if someone gave the impression that they were ready to listen to her talk about psychological anthropology she could go on forever

darcy jane carter is the youngest of three, she has a brother and a sister

her mother is a plastic surgeon and her father is a well known film director

she grew up in california but did a lot of traveling while she was growing up

she learned the piano at a young age and fell in love with it, sort of used it as her escape later on in life

she’s very smart but loves to have a good time also

she’s bisexual 

she’s a sweetheart unless you piss her off then she has a bit of a temper 

HISTORY.

spencer grew up in the kind of family that simultaneously feels miles and miles away but claustrophobic. his family was old money, some industry he was destined to never understand. appearances were important. so while his father was always off at meetings and his mother doing whatever a woman of the world does, out of the home and away from spencer and his brother, there was still an overarching sense of pressure to please them. though they could be physically far, there was a hand spencer knew was always on his shoulder.

the biggest problem with this was spencer’s insisting to march to the beat of his own drum. in subtle ways, he spent much of his childhood and adolescence rebelling against the standards set for him. he hated the box his father was so set on putting him in and through his own parallel bull-headedness, he’s always been someone who’s unapologetically themselves, no matter how unconventional that is.

tw illness. tw death. he singles out his father when he complains about this because, in her last days, his mother was willing to make peace with who he was. she was diagnosed with breast cancer when he was in eighth grade and they moved out of the city so she could have a little peace from the hustle and bustle of it all while she got treatment. spencer grew much closer to her during this time and came to understand more of how that pressure from his parents was something they felt too. this didn’t fix things, but it made him wonder.

his dad married his step-mom a year later. she’s nice, for all its worth, but its been a bummer to watch him try and assimilate her and spencer’s new step-siblings into his grand plan. but he likes them all the same he thinks they’re a good breath of fresh air compared to the kind of people he expected his father to flock to.

high school he went,,, off the rails a little bit. like after cooling it while his mom was sick he really went back hard into standing apart from his dad but now w/ added encouragement from his step family. he got really involved in environmental and somewhat political activism and petitioned to get his high school their first gsa and found a lot of passions he probably wouldn’t know he had if he hadn’t been doing things out of spite so it paid off in the long run

after he graduated he told his dad that he wanted to clean himself up and go to college do the whole shebang. he’s under the impression that spencer is a biology major and completely unaware that he swapped to urban sustainability at the start of his second semester  ( something he’s still bribing his step-sister, kaia, to not snitch him out on ). he knows he’ll have to come clean eventually, but, for now, it’s still a part of that little rebellion.

HEADCANONS.

he’s originally from san francisco and remembers it being like . literally the greatest place in the world all things considered but he also knows himself and knows he would have been way too distracted to actually go to college there so like .  he’ll probs still talk abt it a lot and i apologize 4 that.

unlike kaia, who’s more refined in exerting her beliefs, spencer is not afraid 2 make a scene over waste management in the middle of a party. he’s got a lot to say and he’ll be damned if he doesn’t say it, stream of consciousness style as it comes to him. it doesnt make him the most popular, but it helps him sleep at night

he’s just literally such a hyperbolic speaker and everything seems like life or death w him but its really not . he just needs a nap or some milk or something .

HISTORY

serena grew up inflicted by the collateral damage of her parent’s divorce. the former daos had married young, they thought they could look past what made them opposites attracting and beat the odds. so it goes, they were wrong, but make no mistake: the terms of their split weren’t short of amicable: they knew they were different people who wanted to lead different lives and the only thing keeping them from just walking away from it all and calling it a day was the fate of their then five year old daughter. but, again, ever amicable, the daos worked out what they figured to be a fair schedule of visits.

what got to serena wasn’t her parents fighting or any bad blood between them. it was simply having to learn how to adapt and lead two extra lives. during the weeks, she lived with her mother; a self proclaimed member of the new age, a hippy at heart and a yoga instructor to the world and on the weekends, she stayed with her father; a suit living closer to the city, a gentle and harmless stick in the mud that tried his best to connect with his eldest child ( as his second wife would have him two more, serena’s brothers, who eventually became his main focus ).

this back and forth made her adaptable. serena knows how to pick out what people want from her up front and play to that. she’s not fake, persay, but she genuinely does what she can to be the most pleasing to her company. maybe she’s a little dishonest about who she is, but it’s only to be agreeable.

when it comes down to it, she aligns herself more with her mother. she primarily lived with her and they lived small. when serena was applying for colleges, her dad tried to step in more to offer her money and, unlike her mother, she wasn’t too proud to take it. so she’s kinda caught now in a place of never knowing what it was like to be a Person With Money but knowing she doesn’t have to face the same financial woes as some of her friends who have a harder time making college work.

that being said, you can absolutely milk a free meal out of her whenever you need it so long as she knows ur going through it

serena wants to work for some activism or pop culture based publication when she graduates, and, as practice, she has a youtube channel where she posts forty minute annoying lil video essays. she’s not famous by any means but her engagement isn’t too shabby

she has a hairless cat named beetlejuice aka lil b and thats a big deal for her

shes got a bunch of tattoos on her left arm i was gonna put them on a stats sheet and then got tired so just know. the most prominent ones are a david bowie tribute lightening bolt, a keith haring figure w/ a heart, and a portrait of her cat bc again . big deal

growing up, chip was taught right and wrong. his mother was a professor of ethics and his father was a civil rights lawyer and conversations of morals were never spared from the family dinner table. smack in the middle of two sisters, chip always leaned to the side of his father. ever since he was a kid, he wanted to grow up and be him.

his father was sure to make sure he knew the work it’d take. but it was never to push him too hard, or discourage him. he was always proud. chip was the golden boy for sure, he had the grades and the drive and the brain to get him where he wanted to be.

so, practically, all the pressure chip felt to succeed through his life wasn’t pushed onto him by anyone else. it was self imposed. he loved getting to be bragged about and, at the end of the day, figured his drive and his high academic achievements were his main currency in life. his family, his friends, and himself were all kind of fixated on that kind of stuff so it really was and still is his life.

he joined the soccer team in high school to beef up his resume a little so he could add a sport to his student government activities and speech & debate. it also just became a good outlet for him he liked putting his stress into training for that and he liked having the built in friends that came with that. they loosened him up a little for better or for worse. with them, he got into parties, met more girls, and from there, spiraled just a tad.

tw pregnancy tw abortion. long story short, he met a girl, they were head over heels for each other, and she got pregnant. after three solid days of weighing out all of their options, they agreed that neither of them were ready for that and there was no way they could support a child, or, in her case, a pregnancy, so she got an abortion and, like that, they were meant to have washed their hands of it. they understood this as the end of their relationship and haven’t spoken since.

but obviously, nothing is that easy. he explained it to his parents and has since still been trying to get back into their good graces.

if anything, the whole situation has made him more of a stick in the mud than ever. he’s the killjoy of his frat, not that it’s a frat known for being particularly wild anyway, but he can be a real stick in the mud because he does what he can to a) continue putting off processing his past and b) prevent any other further deviation for the plan his father’s laid out for him. he’s a good guy deep down he’s just become more goal oriented than ever trying to keep his life on track after the senior year situation.

he’s avoided the party scene for most of his time at stanford but now that its his senior year he’s starting to loosen up again to get it out of his system before law school
