I’m not a big Stancy shipper because mostly I think Nancy has been shoe-horned into having a boyfriend for the entire series until the mutual breakup with Jonathan. She started out as a kid just doing what kids do, then experienced a ton of trauma that she never had the chance to unpack for herself outside the context of a relationship—see s2, when she said “like we didn’t kill Barb,” when went on with Jonathan’s help to pin the blame where it better belonged. She consistently struggles to balance her wants and needs with that of a partner’s, either Steve or Jonathan, and part of that is she’s still figuring out who she is as a young adult. And she’s a badass gun toting investigative journalist, which is so far outside what’s been modeled for her by either of her parents (or arguably anyone she’s ever met) that she really is working blind.

Anyway, tldr; I think Nancy deserves to be single for at least a while and figure out her priorities in life and in a relationship. Maybe she’ll even end up realizing she’s bi or a lesbian or aromantic, or any combination of those.

I am also a major Steddie shipper in a way that will always take precedence over Stancy for me.

HOWEVER. ☝️

I can envision a scenario where Steve and Eddie are exploring some things, and Nancy is exploring some things, and they invite her to explore with them. The way Eddie feeds Steve is typically pretty sexually charged, but Nancy feeding Steve is more of a platonic kink—though she also enjoys telling Eddie what to feed him, maybe helping him do it, and watching both boys get more and more riled up about it.

Steve wants to try pegging, so she obliges him. Maybe she’d started to think of herself as more asexual, content to masturbate without the need for a partner, but she likes pegging him. And Steve likes that she likes it, making a nice little feedback loop of pleasure for the two of them. Eddie is mostly focused on Steve, but gets to watch his sweetheart get fucked from a whole new variety of angles without worrying about jealousy getting in the way. Nancy even takes charge one night and, after Eddie has cum in Steve, talks him through getting the strap on and continuing to fuck him until his eyes cross and his chubby limbs turn to absolute jelly.

They don’t necessarily do this often, just when Nancy is in town for a story or is particularly stressed and needs to take a quick vacation. She calls though, gossiping with Eddie about how Steve is eating and growing these days or complimenting Steve on how well he’s taking care of himself/how well Eddie is taking care of him, how he’s doing in school to become a teacher, etc.; it’s very healing for both her and Steve, after the shit they went through as teenaged girlfriend and boyfriend before they really knew what they were doing.

When Steve and Eddie can finally get married, Nancy officiates. And also spends part of the wedding night “officiating” Steve being spit-roasted between Eddie and what remains of the wedding cake, making sure Eddie keeps his new husband nice and overstimulated with the strap on during his own recovery periods and that Steve receives regular, detailed reports of how full he looks and feels, where new stretch marks are starting to pop up, how he ripples and wobbles with each of Eddie’s thrusts, how close is belly is to touching the floor, how very good he’s being for both of them. Steve feels so good he’s crying while he begs for more.
