Will on the ungradable Deliverance over at Stanage a couple of weeks ago. Such a great looking line, pretty polished but such a great looking line that it’s worth the pinging feet.
Got super close on it but I just couldn’t trust the dyno, I think when I tried it I was three days on so my skin was just awful. Either way, excuses included I need to get back on this sometime soon, finish it off before it becomes an Ice Rink.

Just Blew in from the Windy City - Doris Day
Over the summer me and my friend Ellie made a film about a challenge we set ourselves in the Peak District, to get ‘inside’ the rock on a bunch of trad routes between Severe and E1.
We made it to inspire others to go out and do fun challenges and adventures, and show that you don’t have to be climbing super hard to have fun on the rock!
We’ve entered it into the BMC’s Women in Adventure film competition, so it would be awesome if you could give it a watch and share it :)
James Metzger on ‘Green Traverse V6/f7A’ at Stanage a few weeks ago, he stuck that move a few times but doing it in sequence is the real struggle. Even after it’s still quite easy to drop, seen a few people celebrate a bit too early on the final holds.
We managed to jump over to The Roaches today with the great weather. It was as rammed as if it was a bank holiday but the grit was calling. Jumped on ‘Tetris V9/f7C’ but it felt a bit greasy as it’d been baking in that Autumn sun all day. Didn’t stop Will from finishing off ‘Trust V6/f7A’ though in the most casual ascent I’ve seen! A few pings here and there but after trying it about 3 years ago he seemed dead chuffed to finally top it out.
Connor Laycock on Crozzle Slab V0 over at Stanage Plantation. Lovely little climb and Connors first time outdoor climbing. He started great, picking up grits quirky style fast. I reckon Connors gonna have some stories to tell in the coming years with how strong he’s going.
Shame about the weather, lucky he doesn't seem to bothered by being swarmed by about 500 midges and mad humidity cutting our session short. To be fair the first thing he asked me back at training a few days later was when we were next heading out, pretty surprised not gonna lie.I mean I was joking with the centre owner saying I should take all first timers outdoors so he’d get traffic with how my recent trips have been going!

Me, Myself and I on some trad route that was for some reason in a bouldering guide, only really grasped the realisation when I was topping out.
I was having a little chat with a few lads I bumped into at Stanage about favorite rock to climb on; Now I’ve always been a fan of Gritstone, can’t get enough of the shit, But it’s not what I’ve climbed my hardest on. I’m probably best on sort of mountainy igneous rock... And that hurts my heart, I want to be a grit rat and slap my way up the grades that way! But sometimes you need to listen to reason over love. Or just get better at climbing on grit!

It took me a little while to think up the topic for today’s picture but It’s gonna be on pushing personal boundaries. I think we’ve all been in that situation leaving a crag where we knew deep down we could have sent our project we’s been working on.
I started to do a little ritual before I jump onto a project where I’ll have a little word with myself so I know to push past the point your brain says that’s enough. That’s what I love, the idea of overcoming yourself when it comes to your ambitions. Work through the pain, the what if’s and as long as you just perform, you’ll get it.
Here Andy attempts the glassy but brilliant “not to be taken away” 6c at Stanage Plantation in the Peak district. Unfortunately I’ve never been to this amazing crag, however this is not through a lack of trying. In fact, I spent one summer evening after I had finished work seemingly doing laps of the Peaks in search of this mysterious place, but unfortunately after my phone had run out of battery; my car had almost overheated; and I had come close to killing myself on some super sketchy single track roads in the dark; I decided to give up and head to the pub to meet up with the rest of the guys. Fortunately for them they hadn’t been so unlucky and had managed to tick off a decent number of climbs. I wasn’t bitter. I promise… Will Murphy
