Vigil for Death Row Inmate Rodney Reed Held on UT Austin Campus

On February 26, one week before Reed's execution date, students gathered at the Tower and held a vigil for Reed to protest the wrongdoings of the Texas judicial system. Reed's brother was there to speak in honor of his brother, who was convicted for murdering Stacey Stites on April 23, 1996. Advocates for Reed claim that Reed was wrongfully accused in racially-motivated arena. An all-white member jury convicted Reed and there were claims that his DNA tests were conducted unfairly and incorrectly.
