     “I never had the best intentions where Albion was concerned,” he admitted, though there was no remorse in his tone. “I still don’t.”

     He was a monster of the worst kind, but he was alright with that. These... creatures did not know who their betters were. Why should he care about them? They certainly had never showed him or his kind any kindness at all. Even when they had offered the humans peace, he and his siblings were shunned, regarded as abhorrent and unknowable monstrosities. Well, if that was what they wanted, that was exactly what they were going to get.

           “It’s... It’s nothing,” he sighed as he sat up and rubbed the sleep from his eyes. It was a lie, of course. This nightmare had been plaguing him for well over a week now, always the same, always just as frightening as the night before. They kept him awake and on edge, for there was little he could do to stop them. Any time he closed his eyes, the scene would replay for him once again. 

     “ not everything about ourselves is easy to understand , at least not alone . . . that’s why you’re here . i want to help you . ”

            “--I get nervous around dwarven stonework.”

                       He would state, his tone rather soft as he nodded towards what appeared to be part of a crumbling wall. Not a whole lot scared him, but remnants of the past sometimes left him feeling rather uneasy.

“ This is the worst.”  

Tonight wasn’t the greatest of all, as usually she had gone out. Walking her usual route and taking out anything that shouldn’t be there. Regularly it was no hard task, just a deed that had to be done. Whether she liked it or not.  Tonight, however, it seemed that she had her last shot of luck. To her horror a stronger and more violent creature had revealed itself,  proving itself to be lethal right from the first approach.  A creature strong enough to deem a slayer helpless, temporary, as Mercy rested behind the grave tomb.  ‘ Just a moment, I just need to calm down’  her mind kept repeating. 

Although, when she heard the approaching sound of footsteps getting closer, her attempt of calmness faded, instantly she sat up, still remaining low. Hoping that whoever was there would have no ill intentions and just wander off.
