You know, rambling here but. I'm realizing a lot of expressionist paintings have inspired the desired direction of my art visually for this game. (And of my work in general lately, really.)
There really ought to be more modern expressionist art... it's like a nice medium inbetween total realism and total abstraction of a work. Smiles.

@guestgrey Oh my goodness, thank you so much for your supportive comments! 😭And RIGHT?! Honestly, one of my favorite things to see in animation is hybrid work (2D + 3D, etc.) or mixed media/utilizing live action footage or stop motion. I looooooveeee it. Just so unique, love to see the confines of a medium pushed.
I know in my game I intend to keep that factor relevant to some degree myself! Intend, keyword, lmao. It's been SO fun getting in the practice stylistically with this stuff. Only con is there's only so much free stock footage online. 🤣 But, we PERSIST! We'll make it happen!
Side tangent, but if you like the style of my work, I'd totally recommend checking out The Tatami Galaxy, even if it's just these few images, hehe. MASSIVE inspiration.

It's been really fun doing all these animations; it was nice to get out of my system! Now though, I think I'm finally going to be putting my full attention to finishing the current game I'm creating with my team, then going full speed into game dev on my original game.
It would help a lot if I'd receive a callback I'm expecting already for a job... 😵💫 But, we persist. I am still kicking, and especially once summer hits (I won't have to work then) it'll definitely be easier.
I know people talk about how lonely your 20s are and it's so so true even if you've got friends and family because there are days and sometimes even weeks when no one talks to you and you just drift through life in a cycle of work and rest wondering if you're a bother for reaching out or if you've upset them and idk I love my friends so much but sometimes it's me and I don't know how to communicate without constantly being worried about how they perceive me and the melancholia has hit hard today.
