Even though all I do on here now if lurk I wanted to post about the fact that I got my results for second year yesterday. I ended up achieving a first (again!) which is crazy, roll on KU for my year abroad!
I’m revising for mechanics at the moment. I really enjoyed my lecturer but she has been absolutely useless at helping us prepare for this exam. We don’t get solutions to past papers which I think is ridiculous seeming as I have no clue in what way she wants me to answer a question. Does she want me to specify variables? Do I need to do diagrams? I don’t know because she hasn’t told us! “Oh but Joanne why don’t you email her?” YOU REALLY THINK I HAVEN’T?
Then there are the workshop problems which we do get answers for. The only problem is is that it is very clear that because this is just a first year class they really do not give a fuck. Like half the answers are wrong and literally make no sense in any physical way. Furthermore they are taken out of the book we are using which tells us the answers anyway. Would you not as a lecturer CHECK to see if they match up?
Sorry about the rant but it is so exhausting and annoying and it’s so close to the exam I want to cry.
I am so sick of solving equations right now. I thought that because my first term was basically all maths I would love it but I cannot wait until I start learning real concepts again next term.
19.12.2015 Started with my mathematics yesterday. I never really bother with nice notes for maths as it is a far better use of my time to do problems. Trying to get back into using the pomodoro technique so I stop taking hour long breaks! Also I made an Instagram about studying and healthy eating (two things that have been lacking in life over the last few months) @joanne_studies . I'd love it if you guys followed it (or my personal account @jnnshpprd) but I'm mostly looking for people to follow so if you have an account similar please let me know!

I'm feeling really down right now because I realised that in the 3 month period since starting university I gained 10 pounds. I was expecting to be a few pounds heavier but this is crazy. I know it's not all about numbers but my diet has gotten so bad and it really has reflected my bad lifestyle choices I have been making. I stay up late almost every night, eat late at night, and barely take my ass to the gym. I don't even exercise by walking or cycling places seeming as everything is about 5 seconds from where I live. On top of this I haven't been studying enough and I'm worried that I'm not going to do well on my exams in January. Completely stressing out about balancing time between working, hanging out with friends from home, and spending time with my family. I just wish there was enough time to appreciate it all this holiday. On that note, I am going to stress eat my way through some celebrations before crying about it later. Sorry for the whiney post but that's where my life is right now.
Hello!
Today in the UK we got our A Level results. This time last year I was sitting here with BBC in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics respectively. These are good grades but my dream was to study Physics at university which I could not do if I achieved the same this year.
So I knuckled down, really began to understood the concepts rather than just rote learning my ass off before the exam, and ended up with AAB in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry (but the Chemistry is being remarked but tbh I’m not really expecting it to go up. It’s just I get £3000 from my university if I get AAA so I thought it was worth a shot).
Anyway, I thought I’d make this post for any AS students who maybe didn’t do as well as they hoped. You can do it, believe me!
August Goals
1. Run three times a week I like running. I really don’t know why I have become so lazy this summer than I can’t even be bothered to go for a run.
2. Do toning regularly Blogilates used to be my thing and now it’s been months since I last toned and it is a struggle to carry shopping bags since my arms are so weak.
3. Don’t stress about results too much I am seriously not spending the next twelve days as a ticking time bomb of stress.
4. Finish FP1 and M2 by the 14th
5. Start FP2 and M3
6. Start buying stuff for university
7. Have fun! This is my last full month of holiday and it’s debatable whether I’ll ever get this much time off again. With summer placements and work experience to follow, having no work (which is required) todo may never happen again and I really hope I enjoy it.
