After stepping out to go to a meeting with the head of the Art Ed department and artist #PeponOsorio I came back to find this lovely note. In the past few years I've finally started realizing my art isn't necessarily meant (solely) to be sold for money, but for impact it has on others. This just made my day. I also think it sums up what @skellentona was saying about the #artists coming together with researchers and other fields at #sssbconf ! " Cecelia, You were at a meeting when we stopped by, but we wanted to leave you a note saying how much we appreciated your exhibit. At an event like this, which seems to focus so much on celebrating scientific innovation, it's easy to forget what that science so often strives to preserve and protect. Your presentation reminded us of that. Your art captures a power and emotion that is so often forgotten, but is nonetheless integral to all forms of the human experience. Further, as someone who also lost a close family member too soon, your art resonated with me, and called back up that pins and needles feeling you described.
