She couldn't believe it. It was already the day of Makoto's funeral, and Eric was distraught. She knew it had been about a week since Makoto was killed, her and her child, but it still hurt. She shouldn't have been killed. She had a life ahead of her. She had a child, someone who also had a life to live. She should still be alive. She should still be carrying her baby, waiting for it to be born so she could raise it.
She should be there, smiling, her laughter a mixture of joy and victory. DIO might have been defeated, but he still left his mark.

Ring
"You're still coming to the funeral, right?"
Eric groaned as she reached for her phone. It was Kamiya. Kamiya and Robin were the into ones besides Makoto to have her number so they were he into ones who could get up with her. It was Kamiya who told her about Makoto's death.

She put the phone to her ear after swiping the answer button.
"Hello?"
"You're still coming to the funeral, right?"
"Yeah, I might be there a little early."
"Okay, sounds good. I'll see you there?"
"Yeah."
"Ciao!"
Eric waited until Kamiya hung up the phone so she could put it down. Eric sighed, going to the mirror to look at herself.
She wore a black suit with a white dress shirt and a black tie to match. Her hair was put up in its usual bun, her blue star earrings replaced with simple, gold hoops. She didn't have any make-up so she went without. She didn't need it if it was just going to smear on her face over the day.
She walked over to the mat in front of the door and grabbed her worn out brown loafers from her time in high school. She didn't have anything else, plus it was too late to go get some.
She grabbed her satchel-esque purse and headed out the door, a melancholy feeling blooming in her heart.
