A BIT ABOUT PYRITE:

Pyrite is more commonly known as “Fool’s Gold” - for it’s ability to trick miners into thinking they’ve struck true gold. It has always been considered inferior, though it does contain a type of gold within it’s crystalline structure. It’s a fitting comparison for our Lord of Fools who is constantly dismissed and put down by everyone around him. See past his facade and get to know the real Mammon, and you’ll find a powerful ally with a heart of gold that would do almost anything for you. 

Pyrite is a stone of protection - it wants to shield and protect its wearer in every way possible. He doesn’t give one shit about your connection to Lilith, because he already cares so much about you and the person you are - while everyone seems to suddenly care more about you due to your lineage. He will always encourage you to be your true self and love you for it, in all his free-spirited ways.

Additionally, Pyrite is a great symbol of prosperity and good fortune. Being the Avatar of Greed, Mammon has the ability to shower those he takes a fancy to with wealth - and absolutely does so with his beloved MC. 

PYRITE AND MY MC SELF:

I think one reason I’m so drawn to Mammon, is because he complements me well and I understand him. With a sun sign of Pisces and a moon of Leo, I myself am a deeply emotional person who is also quite fierce and strong-willed. While Mammon isn’t a Leo, he is that fire in the relationship, sparking joy and adventure in a dramatic way that Cayrie wouldn’t otherwise engage in.

My own altar has raw pyrite on it in tribute to my First Man and so would Cayrie’s. I think that would tickle his fancy. I also like to imagine her giving him a piece of it when she has to leave for the human world, maybe pairing it with a chunk of blue calcite or aquamarine, saying “It reminds me of you and I.” He’d definitely add the stones to his pile of treasures and never let them go.

Another nice little head-cannon: I went to one of my favorite stores the other day and found a pair of pyrite studs. I had to buy them, obviously.
