He is indeed!
Heās one of the minor characters in my contemporary fantasy series, and I really enjoy him because like... He is so unapologetically and so objectively awfulĀ - like, the beings he traps and kills and has stuffed or pinned in hugeĀ numbers are completely sentient!Ā
They communicate that they do notĀ want this to happen to them, they struggle and try to get free, theyāre complex beings who would probably volunteer for testing and stuff if it didnāt involve, you know, killing and mounting them.
But...Ā
He has submitted a lotĀ of information to modern magical science within the universe, and especially a lot of the medical side - like, because of Edmund, a lot of the medicine for demons as a whole is wayĀ more advanced than it otherwise would have been, thereās a lot more information about stuff for like, blood and/or hemolymph transfusions, about medicine and first-aid for insectile demons, given that like... You know, thereās not a lot of research into first aid on insects in the mainstream, especially when youāre looking on a bigger scale of like, human-sized spider-like demons and so on, because like...
You know, thereās magical medicine and remedies, but like, they donāt just magically knit everything together or anything, there still needs to be time to heal and so on.Ā
So heās the worst, and everyone knows heās the worst, butĀ heās also had a positive impact, and it doesnāt make him any less gross? But people canāt actually just rewrite things because his completeĀ lack of ethics is what has lead to a lot of medical advancement, and itās fun to have that like, absolutely horribleĀ thing present because thatās a real life concern too.Ā
