We're excited to announce that Swan Queen Week is back from hiatus for its twelfth outing in November 2026!

This year will run the same as previous years, which (for the uninitiated) means one Swan Queen Week in winter and one in summer, where we will release 7 prompts under one overarching theme for you lovely humans to create fanworks with.

How do we come up with the theme and prompts? Well, that's where you come in! We'll run two rounds of community submissions and voting, one for themes and one for prompts. You can see the timeline for this all here (dates may change a little as we go, we’re figuring it out after hiatus):

The first submission form (for the overarching theme of this fall's event) is available here and open until August 28th (11:59pm EST), at which point we will host a poll to vote for the winner. You're welcome to fill out the form as many times as you'd like, so fill it out any time inspiration strikes! We can't wait to see what you come up with!

Following that, we will have a repeat form and Tumblr poll in September to help us land on 7 individual prompts for SQW12.

This all leads us up to November, when we will open our AO3 Collection and monitor all works tagged #swanqueenweek on Tumblr to make sure no sqw creation is missed!

So for now, your task is simple: let us know your theme suggestions and spread the word to your friends and fandom faves alike.
