PSA: if you live in the range of the invasive spotted lanternfly [mid atlantic states] then do I ever have some cool news for you!
There’s an app called Squishr where you can document sightings and report squishings of spotted lanternflies. Every report puts a pin at the location of the SPL, which is great for tracking their spread! It’s super fun, and you can see how many SPLs other people have nerfed in your local area, or see where the latest hotspots are.
from the app:
I’ve had it for a few years now; it’s free, it’s fun, and it’s a great citizen science tool even if it doesn’t feel like it, haha!
