Smothered Dog Sushi and Friends
The idea came to mind because I wanted an excuse to use enchilada sauce to make something with some cheese, and saw a joke sushi hotdog thing.
The ingredients should be apparent; I went with some toasted seaweed stuff from Walmart, some squid bits from the freezer section there, Old El Paso Mild enchilada sauce, great value white rice from Walmart, some shredded mozzarella by accident instead of a mixed cheese blend, cheap sour cream, and the accidental star of the show, Philadelphia Cream Cheese.
Started by making the rice, them boiling both the squid bits and enchilada sauce on low heat once the rice was ready. Next came microwaving the hot dogs and then laying out the rice and cream cheese on the seaweed and wrapping it up.
The next steps can be seen in the first four pictures; setting up the squid bits and hot dog sushi in the container, then adding the sauce, then the cheese, then the sour cream. Then came the container lid to give it time to simmer a bit and liquify the sour cream slightly.
The last few pictures were the friends; the sushi rolls with squid bits in them. That last shot was sort of what I originally was thinking about doing; just some rice and enchilada sauce and cheese, but them I done saw that hot dog sushi thing and got a bit inspired to try this.
All in all, it was a learning experience. Too much in the sushi wraps, maybe boil the squid bits with some other things for more flavor, and getting the mixed cheese stuff.
