They should've added the dual squelchers back into splatoon 3 but called them the triple squelchers. It's exactly the same as it was in splatoon 1 but there's just another unused nozzle like ducktaped to the side of it.

“I SEE YOU!”
This was roughly based on a dream I had a few nights ago. Simply put, in addition to the old squelchers coming back, the Squid Research Lab learned of a Dualies variant of the Squelchers.
The single barreled squelcher keeps it’s original name, but the double barreled squelcher has it’s name changed from “Dual Squelcher” to “Double Squelcher.”
The dualies variant of the single barreled squelcher becomes the new “Dual Squelcher” and the dualies variant of the Double Squelcher is called the “Quad Squelcher.”
THE SQUELCHER!
This delightfully disgusting thing was a hilarious idea I came up with for my Monster of the Week campaign as a benign, though annoying creature.
The gimmick of the squelcher was that it was never witnessed, but its presence was often indicated with little balls it would leave in its wake. The monster, you see, consumed light via photosynthesis and would then excrete a special pigment from its body into a small ball.
These 'paint balls' would explode with minor amounts of force, and the resulting burst of pigment would change color every time it was viewed. It would be red, and once you blinked it became yellow.
What made it so annoying was the creature was fast, very fast. And so you'd only know when it was around right after hearing the SQUELCH! of one of its orbs, painting some unfortunate soul in multicolor dye until it got washed off.
The second variant was one that was captured, experimented on, and instead excreted balls filled with acid instead. Much less whimsical.
