Y'all want to see my tarot deck?
It's not done yet, but it's pretty close. I've got a new Knight of Cups (from the Fat Folks Tarot) coming my way soonish.
I tried to follow a few rules - no cards from the same deck within each suit - at least one of every card - keep the interpretation and meaning in mind.
Some cards I haven't found the right deck for. The 9 of Pentacles has been a struggle for me.
The 5th suit (Suit of Beasts) was loosely inspired by the Alleyman Tarot's 5th suit. Its more focused on the boundaries between humanity and animal nature. I broke the rules for the 2 of Honey and 5 of Dreams. Rules are fake anyway tho.
The major arcana is in *a state* at the moment. Quite a few placeholder cards (still looking for The Tower from The Tarot Restless), lots of doubling up of decks (don't make me choose between Dante's Inferno Judgement and Moby Dick Devil, I can't do it - The Literary Tarot is too on point), and I'm still missing a good VII Justice/Adjustment.
Yep. That's my girl. The art is pretty and the shuffling is therapeutic.

about month ago, moments after I had woken up, I saw @melgillman’s wonderful post about acorn foraging. Just a couple hours later I was walking around my campus picking up acorns.
after drying acorns, catching weevils, cracking them open, throwing away more weevil-eaten acorns, and keeping a jar of acorn mush in my fridge, I finally got to make acorn brownies!! and they were delicious!!
my gf added a bit of baking powder so it would rise, and we’re already talking about doing this again next year :3
as someone who has never foraged before, I would HIGHLY recommend
RANTING HERE CAUSE IM SO UPSET
I watched the amazing documentary Listers: A Glimpse Into Extreme Birdwatching, a unique documentary published on youtube. It is an incredibly high quality film, has gotten praise all across the internet and from many news sites. It’s honestly one of the best films of the year.
The two brothers that created it, Owen and Quentin Reiser, seem to be trying their hardest to keep this film free. They turned off ads on youtube, with just their venmo and their published birding guide linked for anyone that wants to support them. By looking through their wiki page, turns out they TURNED DOWN offers from NETFLIX, HBO, AND AMAZON!!! In a world where subscriptions and ads are everywhere, this is such a heartfelt push for keeping media free, and I cant respect the brothers enough for that
Letterboxd is a popular IMDB alternative that cinephiles love, and thats where people can find popular movies, praise their favorites, and shine light on underrated films. They get their movie data from TMDB. Ever since the birding documentary came out, people have been trying to put this film in the database so it can be on letterboxd and get the praise it deserves. Every time it has been deleted from the database, because TMDB has a rule that no films that are only on youtube are allowed.
So basically, if the brothers accepted offers from these huge streaming services, it would be on letterboxd, but because they want to keep their film free for the public, it can never get on there, even though it has gotten so much praise and even has an 8.5 rating on IMDB
I call bullshit!!!!!
I cant wait to be the buzzkill at thanksgiving being like “hey guys, did you know this is a national day of mourning for the indigenous community?”
