Every time I go swimming i end up making more pooltoy art 🏖️
(wish i went swimming more often)
Get your squeak on
Random Pooltoy OC. The colors could be better, but I was mostly focusing on shape.
They are matte vinyl besides their clear belly, which has digestive goo inside, similar to stomach acid. This process leaves nothing behind but gas.

Emily (She/It/Pup/Puppy)
Aight gamers you wanna see some rubber stuff
I drew…?
So
I decided to use a little tutorial I found to actually try doing rubber in a good way in my mobile sketch app (left is sketch, middle is my normal hatch shading method for shiny rubber, and right is what I attempted)
CW: rubber and cute nulge below <3
This was a good test, and in retrospect I would’ve been more consistent with light source (and also use a reference lol), but I decided it would probably look better if I drew it in CSP where I could draw it properly. So I did :3
Left is original sketch, right is render:
With this one, I decided to really keep the lineart more consistent and have a better shape as a result, which helped a lot in selling the rubber shading better. I even did it on the nose for fun. X3c
It also helped me to keep the shading more consistent with the face’s geometry (but again i didn’t use reference hueh-) as well as keeping the light consistent too.
I even did a second drawing of my oc full rubber’d up with this shading, and that one I’m super proud of tbh-
I feel really proud of this practice I’ve done (it’s not much, but I like it!) and i feel like I could possibly use it more, though maybe simplifying it with the multiple steps it took for each part of the shading ^w^;
Thanks @dreamatduskk for this fun process, hopefully next time I use this I can find some references (if there is any good ones please lmk)
