“ my life was so much less complicated before i met you, bartowski. ” yes, she was on the run, never staying in one place, mistrustful of everyone and everything. but in a way it was simpler. just stay alive. that was the only thing that mattered. make it to tomorrow. but now there are questions like... what do you like and who are you really? and you deserve to have people care for you. it is like being dropped into an alien planet.

Tim always had trust issues. It started with his father and then spread to the rest of his life, as if it were a poison that was wrapping itself around every aspect of his life and slowly taking it away from him. But he was different, Chuck was different. Always coming up behind him when he needed it, being someone he could count on. So when everything fell to pieces, Tim wasn't really sure how he was supposed to hold himself together after that.
Isabel was gone, she left him, and so he didn't have anyone to talk to about it. All he could do was handle his own thoughts and be alone with them. "You missed your chance to explain." He replied, even though he knew that he should be thankful. Chuck had come to his rescue, and as much as Tim wanted to believe that he had it under control. He knew that he really didn't.
"Trust isn't just given." His voice was harsh, pulling himself up off the ground. "I believe that you're on the same side of this, but I don't know what you want me to say otherwise."

vs. the Girl Next Door
It was weird being back, but it seemed like nothing changed. Same weather, same traffic. But, she changed. At least she’d like to think so.
Four years. Maybe it wasn’t a lot in the grand scheme of things, but hell, she got out of this place after two years of community college and then moving to Portland, pursuing a design and communications degree. Graduated. Worked around a little bit and decided to move back home to help take over the family business while looking for work. That’s what LA was good for, wasn’t it? Even in Burbank.
Balancing her phone between her ear and shoulder, keys in her mouth, carrying a box, Eloise entered the courtyard, slowly as she tried to manage a balancing act, getting to the door.
“Hey, Jesse—no, no, I just parked. Can I call you back? Or I’ll see you...later. Okay...Okay. Love you, bye.” She muffled, mouthful of metal, attempting a quick conversation with her brother when right on cue...the keys fell out of her mouth, clattering onto the ground, phone soon after.
The blonde sighed. “Great.” Attempting some odd contortion, she tried to pick up her things.

@spynerd gets a loki starter!
Loki prided himself on his current illusion. Some high ranking official for some Midgardian office who was currently enjoying time on a yacht -- not that anyone knew that besides Loki. Truly, the official, or what he did, mattered little to Loki, but it made it easier to roam the important offices of Midgard and beyond with little suspicion -- unless of course he entered a common store, but Loki wouldn't stoop to that anyways.
Unless it meant breaking into a covert base -- SHIELD or otherwise. It was off the books to even this official -- a Colonel Roger Samson, or was it Samson Roger? Either way, it begged the question of what was the U.S. Government hiding beneath an electronics store?
Loki entered the automatic doors, dodging past a woman and her young son, and ducked into an aisle of thin, plastic cases with different pictures of what their stories entailed. He pretended to peruse them for a moment, but his eyes scanned the store looking for any sort of roguish activities. He idled near the televisions along the wall, checking a small room which boasted a couch and a Thor-sized television -- which resulted in an eye roll -- before signalling the only place a hidden entrance might hide: the employee area.
Loki approached a circular desk in the middle, eyeing a brunette gentleman who looked about the same height as Fandral. Clearing his throat, he disguised his voice as best he could to the Colonels.
"Howdy, son." The Southern U.S. accent needed work, but Loki grimaced through the awkward pronunciation of consonants over vowels. "Where might I find the--" He swallowed the grimace with a southern smile "--john?"
