I’m in a Fruitbug mood these days, which is rare so I’m super happy!! Here’s Strawberry!! He’s a Ladybug mimic spider.

Strawberry was one of the few Fruitbugs that were released in the first release of the game- he’s actually the one of the very first Fruitbugs that the player can interact with and will give a ‘tutorial’ on how to play the game. (The other being Cherry- any other Fruitbug won’t have the patience to teach players on ANYTHING, much less how to play the game. While others that WOULD have the patience are broken and can’t be found in the game with normal means.)

Strawberry is a VERY friendly person, and loves to interact with players- as a result, it’s ridiculously easy to be able to gain his affection. But even when his affection meter is maxed out, he’ll still be as happy as ever to interact with players; he’ll ask them how their day went, and he’ll be more than happy to talk about interests with them- his being fashion (he’s somewhat of a fashionista, makes his own outfits and has a ridiculous number of them, who are all (overpriced) dlc), and ‘things he finds pretty’ (which tends to be anything pastel or commonly seen as cute). While his friendliness is completely genuine, he can be somewhat needy; he just wants his attention to be reciprocated. Also, he gets kind of jealous if the player interacts more with other Fruitbugs- in those cases, Strawberry will childishly huff and puff and just go ‘HMPH!’ while pouting if he’s interacted with again. But honestly, can you blame him for this behavior? Strawberry is one of the only Fruitbugs who’s genuinely nice to the player, and the latter giving more attention to the mean ones instead of him just frustrates Strawberry. In his true form, he can make some silk he uses to tangle up mean Fruibugs’s code, and go ‘OOPSIE! Player, it seems you can’t interact with Mean Fruitbug today. What a shame, huh.’ Or you know, he just throws one of those strawberry bombs at the mean fruitbugs- those work too. Either way, he’s just trying to be a good friend and protect the player from his mean peers. He’s not doing it in the best way, but he’s trying.

Kiwi’s true form... fluff y

Like most other Fruitbugs, Kiwi only reverts to his true form with intense, negative emotions. Such a situation can be when someone *intentionally* disrespects his cafe’s rules and/or makes his patience run thin... Kiwi hopes that his appearance is enough to scare people into leaving or at the very least, make them stop being rude.

Kiwi; he’s a Bagheera kiplingi, a spider who has a *mainly* vegetarian diet- but in his case Kiwi just hates any kind of meat. He thinks it’s gross.

Kiwi actually owns a vegan café- that is quite literally in the middle of nowhere. As in, it’s a game level/area, but one can only go inside the building- going outside just exits the level. What it means is that the only way to access Kiwi’s cafe is to directly enter it via the menu of the Fruitbugs game, which means that in-game characters can’t access it unless they know to manipulate the game’s code, or if they get invited by Kiwi himself. Which is somewhat unlikely, but i’ll explain why a bit later on. Fruitbug players can access it whenever they wish though! Even at the late hours of the night; though if it’s the case, Kiwi might comment how late it is and wishes that his calm level and music might relax them at the very least. His café is vegan and Kiwi he loves to brew tea especially. But he does café too of course- but he doesn’t do or sell any fruit juice since that’s already something Melon does, and since, well, by Fruitbugs standards, fruit juice is essentially blood. Not good for a *vegan* café. But anything else Kiwi does or sells, you can believe it’s 100% natural- he loathes the idea of altering natural flavors with artificial ones. The players might not be able to taste the flavor, but instead, it can cure ailments done by in-game ennemies (or other Fruitbugs), and even- for some reason? Make the game run more smoothly. No one really understands that mechanic, but some avid players tend to buy x99 of each drink from Kiwi in order to make their game run as fast possible. Kiwi doesn’t really understand the behavior, but he’s glad his drinks can help. As to why he doesn’t invite just *any* of his fellow Fruitbugs- well it’s just that Kiwi can’t stand rowdy or mean people in general. So that bans 90% of Fruitbugs from going even NEAR his café- in fact, Kiwi tells his Fruitbugs customers to NOT tell about his business, out of fear that some mean Fruitbug somehow gets through. Though if he needs to, Kiwi knows how to put his foot down and when to say ‘enough’- and if his words aren’t enough, he might just use force and reveal his true form and shove the unwanted customer out. Please ignore how i haven’t drawn said true form yet.

The in-universe Fruitbugs creator has knowledge that gets communicated to him through his dreams; and a part of that knowledge was seeing an era where everything seemed psychedelic and colorful, with people dancing on color tiles. He figured that something this strange was worth making a character about. People in Futh tend to be already weirded out by the Fruitbugs game in general; with it having a screen displaying COLORS and small pixels… But Mangosteen is one of the character that people deem to be the most strangely futuristic, along with Orange. So those two tend to be somewhat unpopular, or be called ‘acquired taste’ by ‘Expert’ Fruitbugs nerds. Mangosteen doesn’t really seem to mind that; he would honestly rather be deleted than let go of what he calls his ‘grooviness’.
