Rasa is the god of the dead, the unseen one, the giver of wealth, and king of the underworld. It does not excuse him from being stingy on the candy.
Halloween prompt fic and gift to @spycaptain! Hope you like! Available at AO3!
It’s not everyday that someone would knock on the gates of the underworld. So Rasa really didn’t know what to expect when he answered the door.
A young girl dressed as a fairy held up a plastic pumpkin basket to him. “Trick or treat!”
Rasa truly didn’t know what he was expecting. “I don’t have offerings for hallowed spirits tonight.” Or fairies.
The girl, unsatisfied with the response, scrunched her nose and lifted her plastic pumpkin higher, repeating “Trick or treat!”
#13. Anko to Yashamaru.
From this prompt list
@spycaptain @mita-rashi also tagging @naruto-multishippers-anonymous because this is part of an old WIP in Illustrado AU (Except that I still don’t really know where it fits yet but it’s here)

“You really believe that you’re the worst, don’t you?”
Anko tossed another pretty-looking shell into the ocean. It was an orange one, large enough for her to grip firmly— heavy enough for it to sink into the sea along with the mood between her and the medic.
“That was a rhetorical question, please don’t think about it too hard,” she shrugged, picking up another lonely thing washed up on the shore of Sunrise Cove. Land of new beginnings— as if the remnants of her old life hadn’t been carved into her useless chakra pathways.
Given Yashamaru’s silence, he was obviously thinking about it too hard.
“I could be,” he finally said. There was a look in his face— as he pulled his knees closer to his chest; as he laid his head on it, curling up into himself. I am was what he wanted to say; was what Anko clearly heard.
She might have believed him-- chiefly because he believed it so deeply himself. Even when he sat in the midst of evidence against it (a whole community who were happy to give him a multitude of mangoes and crabs and chickens he will never eat!), Yashamaru was, somehow, the worst of the lot.
“You’re not so bad,” Anko picked up another thing. This time, it was a green— glass? A part of a bottle made smooth by the angry tides of the sea. She did not throw it, keeping it pressed against her palm instead. None of its jagged lines could hurt her.
He looked at her like he didn’t take her into his home and stop her chakra from bleeding through wounds she couldn’t even see. “You don’t know tha—“
“I know you’re a shinobi,” Anko said, extending her legs out and closer to the waters— barely looking at Yasha.
She could call him that, right? She could pretend to be close enough for nicknames when she’s let him see all the rot in her. He could be Yasha— for all the times he’s fallen to pieces in her presence. Then smile through the aftermath— pretend that he wasn’t picking up the ruined parts.
“Then, you know what that means.” Yasha imitated her, extending his feet out. Every so often, the waters would tickle their feet and remind them that they didn’t fit in this idyllic setting.
Afternoon naps on hammocks. Ukulele songs over the campfire. Eating food with your hands on banana leaves. Fish fresh from the sea. Laughing kids playing tag in the waters. Who killers sitting side by side on the beach.
That was implicit in the title of a shinobi, wasn’t it? The things they did for their village. The things she did for—
“I’m not saying you didn’t hurt anyone. I’m not saying whatever you did was okay. I’m not even saying that you’re a good person. I’m not pardoning you for your crimes,” Anko opened her hand, the green glass laying quiet on her palm.
“I’m just saying, you’re not the worst of them.”
Nikki. As your friend. As your FAVORITE PERSON EVER (I know you don't want to tell me for fear of what it will do to my ego, and I understand) I really think you should finish all of your fucking KogKag fics so I am no longer stuck in limbo. How dare you get me into a ship and THEN DO THIS TO MEEEE
😇
I’ve been cackling at this ask every day for the last week, thank you.
I’m sorry my fics aren’t finished. I’m hoping to carve out some writing time during this pandemic and use it as an excuse to stay away from the news.
Your sporadic comments on my fics have been wonderful to read and make my day every time they show up.
I went looking for a gif to respond and was torn between the sly Grinch smile or Kronk’s “It’s all coming together” and then found this:
I think it’s pretty accurate.
