   Spending the night at Elliot’s has become such a norm for Scarlett; her mother never questions it at this point even when she does sneak out at night for him. Ever since they were kids, Scarlett and Elliot were honestly inseparable. The teacher use to call them ‘the twins’ because as little kids Elliot and Scarlett never seemed to like being apart from each other. Being that they lived so close by; Scarlett always has such a vivid memory of Elliot always walking her to school, holding her hand, knowing that he can keep her safe. In this case, at night Scarlett is always there to keep him safe as well. Scarlett always tried her best to keep the male distracted and occupied throughout the night, even risking her own sleep, “Okay so— what if you were stranded in an island? What person would you want to be there and why? Could be famous.”

Teddy can count the number of times that he’s argued with Scarlett on one hand. They rarely fight, but when they do, it’s literally awful, with angry voices filling up otherwise silent rooms, and doors more often than not being slammed, causing all the picture frames on the walls to shake and threaten to fall down at any given moment. He genuinely can’t remember what they were even arguing about in the first place, or who started it, if anyone even started it at all. All he knows is that he’s upset and confused ( and still a little bit angry too, which is odd for him ) and ideally just wants to go to sleep and try and forget about the whole thing. It’s hard to forget though, especially when he still has to share a bed with Scarlett, despite what's happened, and Teddy quickly gives up on trying to fall asleep, instead turning over onto his side to be able to look at the girl, studying her carefully in the faint bedroom light. “Scar, are you awake??” he asks, before adding quietly, too ashamed to raise his voice as he apologises. "I'm sorry."
