          ✖ Training in the morning was the closest thing Kaey got to relaxing; before dawn broke && only the patrols were out he’d go down into the courtyard to practice with his staff -- no one was there to see the brand revealed when he had his hair up, or the scars evident on his bare arms. Despite the chill he was dressed lightly, no shoes or tunic on, just a sleeveless shirt && breeches; the workout would keep him warm enough. By time the sun was up he’d be back in his quarters to clean up && dress, prepare for his day, && no one would be the wiser to his morning ritual.

     It had been awhile since he’d practiced with a staff, there seemed to be no point when he only needed to carry his daggers or sword. But he liked being skilled in more than one weapon, && anyway it was relaxing to go through the motions of a different style. He’s so used to his solitude he doesn’t notice who approaches, too focused on his footwork, keeping the staff balanced. It is only when he hears a noise, unfamiliar, does he turn with his weapon at the ready (though what would a simple staff do to threaten someone?). && immediately he pulls back, breathing hard, && dips into a low bow.

{I DO! The mare with the gorgeous blue eyes in the pictures I posted is Evelyn, my Irish Cob bab. I’ve had her since she was a filly, raised her myself and trained her for battle (I do swordfighting, sword-and-shield-fighting and horseback archery with her). The gelding in the other picture was mine as well, but he’s found a new owner and I’ve recently had to sell my young black Irish Cob stallion, Baelfire, because with my broken back, I couldn’t give him the attention he really needs. He’s currently in training with his new owner, who picked up where I left off :3

      Wet locks are tucked behind pointed ears       as the elf stares at the sky, sitting on her own again ;        at least, she thinks she’s alone. She can feel another presence,        a warm, familiar one. It’s Fenlin, and she knows it. After the small        breakdown she had had, and how he’d cared for her, she had a new respect -        and trust, for the elf. 

           “Thank you... For the other day.”
