Please support my friend with this great cause #Repost @elsie_odhiambo with @get_repost γ»γ»γ» Hi, my name is Elsie Wandera-Odhiambo and Iβm the Founder of the Endometriosis Foundation of Kenya. Iβve had 3 surgeries to-date since I was 1st diagnosed with #Endometriosis I remember I was 26yrs old & it took almost 9yrs to discover what was ailing me and give it a name. It always felt, and still feels like a punishment going through the hormone therapy, the pain medication every month. The 1st 8months of my marriage has not been easy but I thank God for a supportive husband. I think the worst is having to explain my condition to everyone to understand or even believe me. In 2014, I chose to #EndTheSilence and ensure my story was heard and represent the Kenyan women who suffer in silence. The EFK was born through my pain...I say itβs all worth it because one day someone will find a cure and in the process I know many women feel that they are not alone as they read the other stories from the women in our support group. . . March is World Endometriosis Awareness Month. As usual the Endometriosis Foundation of Kenya joins in the global efforts to recognize the 176million women suffering around the world. . . This year we would love to light up the Social Media platforms and paint it YELLOW. πππ Please share your Endometriosis journey and use the hashtag #1in10 #SpreadTheYellow #EndTheSilence . . Also get your family and friends involved and shared their experience of what itβs been like for them and show their support. . . Share this with your friends, family, on your status update. Also change your profile picture this month in support of the cause. We love you ladies. . . Letβs put Kenya on the map. π°πͺπ°πͺπ°πͺ Elsie Wandera-Odhiambo Founder, Endometriosis Foundation of Kenya π°πͺπ°πͺπ°πͺ @endofoundke (at Nairobi, Kenya) https://www.instagram.com/relentlesskrugs/p/Buf9NrxgpB-/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=gnl4n4c8vhvk
