Things To Know Before Spending All Your Life Savings On A CD Collection (⚈₋₍⚈)
How to save your wallet on your pursuit to happiness!
DJ Aevum qualifications: 20+ albums in 4 months
DJ ASCENZIOxN qualifications: 50(?) albums in 4 years
We are literally professionals TRUST ₊˚⊹ ᰔ (˵ •̀ ᴗ - ˵ ) ✧
1. Use your brain before adding to cart ❤︎
We get it, you're excited, we were too BUT think really REALLY hard. Do you actually love this album? The artists? Are you collecting a specific genre? category? What is your goal? - DJ Aevum Don't buy stuff just because it's cheap, because it really adds up over time! And don't feel pressured to buy things you truly aren't interested in. All those "CD must-haves" lists are completely subjective. Also, are you sure you want a physical media collection or... would a digital collection fit your needs better?? Make sure to really think about this before committing to your decision!! - DJ ASCENZIOxN
2. Make your own rules!!
For example, me personally, I'm only allowed to buy "second hand!" Sometimes I get lucky and they'll come with the original packaging but they were still purchased from second-hand shops and websites. - DJ Aevum One of my personal rules is to stick to albums rather than buying singles (CDs with 2 songs) since those can add up really fast because like why am I paying so much money for 2 songs, yanno?? I only buy CDs of singles on extremely rare occasions *coughs* Promise Swords by Knights *coughs* Evolution Eve by QUARTET★NIGHT uh, what was that? But yeah, for singles I usually try to buy the FLAC files instead, which are a lot cheaper but have the same audio quality! Once again, like Aevum said, it depends on the person and what they prefer. *Side Note: Something I've observed is that CD albums are sometimes cheaper than buying the FLAC files for them, but buying FLAC singles is cheaper than CD singles - DJ ASCENZIOxN
3. Cross-check sources
Make sure to check multiple sources before making a purchase! Sometimes, certain websites or shops will have prices hiked up more than others, so it's important to look at different places to confirm that you're getting the best deal you can. Check local music stores as well and try to support them when you can! I like to make a chart of the prices to compare and contrast so that I can make my decision. - DJ ASCENZIOxN
The End
AEVUM'S COMEBACK POST
HIII if you're wondering where we've been (。- .•)b
Interviewer Aevum: DJ ASCENZIOXN if you could only pick 3 cds from your collection for the rest of your life, which would you pick and why?? (๑•̀ •́)و🎤
If I could only pick 3.... That's a little tough!!
Well actually my first choice comes to me easily. It would be Nurture by Porter Robinson because it has my favorite song of all time on it (Musician) and I can't live without it. It's also the first CD I ever purchased.
The second CD would have to be Opus by IDOLiSH7 because it's the IDOLiSH7 album with the songs I cumulatively enjoy the most (although I enjoy every other IDOLiSH7 album quite a bit as well) and it's a very loop-able album.
The third and last CD would have to be In Bloom by Saito Soma. There's a lot of musical variety on that album and the lyricism is beautiful. And of course I have to mention that Soma-san's vocals are as heavenly as ever! I enjoy the theme and story of this album greatly and I actually have something related to a song from this album scheduled to post soon so keep your eye out for that >v<
Thanks for the question DJ Aevum!
