Habit has zero sense of personal space. Absolutely none. Even if you wanted to sit on the other side of the couch, you’re dragged closer by a hand on your ankle. Habit’s the type to keep the house freezing and then blanket hog so you’re forced to cuddle up against him.

If you have a habit (no pun intended) of falling asleep during movies, he’s shouldering you awake at the first signs of sleep. Habit says some shit like “You’re gonna miss the best part!” Even though the so-called best part was twenty minutes ago, and just poorly done gore. Sometimes he roughly pokes your sides just for the fun of it

His bad double standards apply here too. Habit’s allowed to annoy you during the movie, but you are, under NO circumstances, allowed to annoy him. You HAVE to sit and watch the movie. Habit doesn’t seem to care as much when you move to stuck hickey marks on his neck and will even keep you there with a hand on the back of your head

And if you’re not interested in the movie he picked, Habit’s making you suck him off or cock warm him. That’s just how it is. He doesn’t make the rules (he does)

Ohhh Habit’s acting like you have zero clue. He’s allowed to be a little less careless in his stalking—He trails a little too close, is a little too loud in your house while you're sleeping. Stuff that would make any normal person fearful and install security cameras.

Not that he hasn’t done that for you. There’s at least one pinhole camera in every room, save for your bedroom and closet, which have several facing all directions.

And, really, you’re just so nice. Leaving everything unlocked and leftovers in the fridge for him—Sliding your window open after changing in front of the parted curtains and sleeping with no underwear on like you want him to do this. Habit’s taking his favourite pair that you so nicely always leave on the line and returning them soiled and sticky, if they’re returned at all.

I’m also thinking about Habit with someone who’s really into the occult and has researched what he is. There’s no way he’s not teasing you, calling you a super fan. Though he’d get jealous upon finding out you’re learning about other demons, and not just him.

The king of “Why read a book when you can just ask me?” knowing damn well that he’s exaggerating and embellishing all his lore.

But anyway, you are SO real.

There are definitely two sides to this: One where he’s playing along and one where Habit’s genuinely pissed off. He has such bad double standards when it comes to the word no. When you say it, he barely acknowledges the statement and continues to pester you beyond annoyance. But when Habit is the one saying no, he’s expecting you to stop whatever you’re doing immediately. And then when you don’t, Habit’s getting angry that you’re bugging him.

Those times are the more violent scenes, and more true to actual predator/prey. The ones where you’re not sure if Habit’s going to stop before he kills you.

He plays dirty, without a doubt. If you’re willing to go the full mile and have a predator/prey chase scene in the Candleverse, Habit doesn’t tell you that he knows where you are at all times. He gets a kick when you try to hide, only to be yanked out of your spot and pinned to the ground, found not even ten minutes after you started running.

And if it’s not in the Candleverse, Habit has every possible location you could go to mapped out and remembered in his head. He knows all sorts of shortcuts and pathways to cut you off and to scare you.

I mentioned this in 'Stuck in a Rut' and I’m also using it in an upcoming fic, but Habit doesn’t let you get the full head start he promised he’d give. He could, without a doubt, count to one hundred, but he always gets bored after thirty and starts walking preemptively. Then he gets impatient and starts running, catching up to you really fast.

Is it cheating? Yes. Does Habit care? No. Complain and pout all you want; he’s not changing.

And willingly getting yourself hurt for him… oh, don’t even get me started. Habit’s licking the blood from your scrapes and cuts, nudging the healthy skin around the wound with his nose. He’s not sorry, no way in hell he would be. It’s more like aftercare than an apology.

I don’t know if you meant stabs as in actual stabs, but if you’re willing, Habit’s willing. He’s plunging his knife through your hand and into the ground with little thought, or maybe clipping your heel with the blade's edge to immobilise you.

Of course, Habit enjoys it when you fight back. He also enjoys it when you submit, but it’s never as sweet if there isn’t resistance beforehand. Habit + CNC + Predator/Prey Play. I’m losing my mind.

i have another headcanon that habit, with his ego, always likes being the one to hang up the phone when reader calls him. its like. charming in a really weird way. ugh i need to gnaw on him. i wanna bite at his chin and jaw and cheeks and

God he's so touchy it becomes insufferable after a while.

Maybe I'm biased because I really enjoy baking, but I feel like Habit would have an absolutely massive sweet tooth. You've had to banish him to the living room multiple times 'cause he's all up in your business, trying to stick his fingers into anything he can. Doesn't matter if you tell him no, Habit's licking the bowls and spatulas once you're done. And as far as chores go, Habit only picks up a mop when he's gotten blood all over the floors. Either from an animal or another human, it's the only thing he cares to clean up.

Habit's the type to forcefully push you all the way to the other side of the bed so he can occupy a majority of it. The only way you can comfortably spread out is if you lie on him, and even then, he's shoving your limbs off playfully. Pokes and prods at you while you're trying to fall asleep just to annoy you. Once you fall asleep, Habit stops and either fiddles with the ends of your hair or scratches your back.

Oh my GOD you’re so real. I have this exact idea in my to-do list.

Because like... Why leave when you have everything??? Why leave if you're happy and getting your freak matched every night???

In most of my Habit fics, I always imagine reader to know/be dating Evan before Habit came along. Like this demon comes and kills all your friends using your body and then steals your partner, and they’re loving it???? It feels so insulting to me. You loved Evan, you still do. You care for him. But Habit? He knows the things that go on in your mind. They go on in his all the time. It really does take one to know one.

I think Habit would switch with Evan for the sole reason of fucking with him. Usually, they’re quick and away from you. Just to really drill in how helpless Evan is. If Habit ever decides to let Evan take control in front of you, he’s either dead or overpowered by his own curiosity as to how you’d react.

Evan would be so so so confused. At everything, obviously, but also as to why you’re bruised and bitten to hell and back. Evan recalls snippets, very blurry pieces of things. Maybe a moment a few months back where Habit taught you how to torture someone. Maybe a brief second of him hitting you and the moans you make that are definitely not from pain. And even if Evan didn’t remember, he would assume the things he did.

There’s a good minute of staring at each other in shock. Evan has a moment of Oh, I did that. I did that to you. You have a moment of Habit’s playing Evan again. Why? Because honestly, if Evan came out randomly, I would find myself calling Habit's name. Like, there’s no way he doesn’t play as Evan when in trouble to gain some sympathy points. It doesn’t work anymore—you’ve gotten good at spotting the very, very subtle differences between Evan and Habit playing Evan—But there were a few times he tricked you when this first started.

Poor Evan, my goodness. This has to be a total mind fuck. I mean, imagine waking up to your partner after some random, ambiguous time who doesn’t believe it’s you. They look like they’ll be in immediate danger once Evan goes back, subjected to violence Evan didn’t think his body was capable of. Once you realise that it is him, Evan is clinging to your shirt and sobbing into it. The fabric is bunched between his hands as he tugs on it for literally an ounce of comfort.

Sigh. Do NOT worry Evan, I will save you.

Hear you say…

Tells you to heel and to come (cum), sit, roll over, literally every single trick in the book. He always says good dog, but it’s up to how nice he’s feeling that day if he’ll give you a pat on your head…

Baby talks you ONLY to annoy you. Habit is NOT doing this for affection; he’s doing it so you get really pissed off, and then he has a reason to discipline you.

He’s also the type to clicker train you, and he's really stingy with how often it's used. Only doing chores to Habit's standards or sucking him off really well is the easiest way to get that short dopamine burst.

Habit blames you for mostly everything around the house—chewed up shoes, bones left around, anything that's out of place is earning you a smack.

Habit makes you hump a pillow in place of his leg and bullies you for it… Says that you’re too much of a mutt to touch him…

Not sure if this has been said before, but has a cage for you in the corner of your bedroom. Habit finds it endearing if you decorate it with string lights and blankets and stuff, but inevitably removes them because “What dog is gonna appreciate these cute things?”

Yes and no.

Habit will probably never get used to being muzzled. He still nips at your hands and makes some interesting noises when you try to put the muzzle back on him.

Definitely not to the point of punching you in the face again, but he’s still aggressive, even if it is a little more reserved.

Muzzling Habit would also have to be a recurring result before he starts to get the full idea.

Like, yeah, Habit’s actions have consequences, ones he’s only started to care about and pay attention to when you came around with this old muzzle. He’s learned that the more severe his biting is, the longer you force the muzzle onto him.

It’s akin to crate training a dog. At the beginning, the dog whines and barks and scratches to be let out. It’s more than tempting to let him out even when you know that he’ll learn nothing from it.

The only way to go about it is to leave him in the cage to let him glower and sulk to himself while you peacefully do chores.

I also see Habit then purposely biting you. He 100% gets this weird enjoyment and power trip when letting you think you have an ounce of control over him.

You do, but he’d like to keep that thought to himself for as long as possible.

Habit would hide your glasses on purpose. Like 100%. He’d hide them in spots you frequent, both main pair and back up pair, putting them just out of your vision and then has the audacity to tease you about not seeing your glasses that were RIGHT there. He also rearranges furniture on the hope that your depth perception is fucked up enough, and you’ll stumble right through the items.

And he makes you ask for help, too. Even if you lost them by accident away from his doing, and if Habit happened to see them lying around, he would not tell you where they are. And you can’t say ‘Have you seen my glasses?’ NO. Habit’s making you go the full mile, refusing to give up any information until you say something along the lines of ‘Habit, can you please help me find my glasses? I lost them.’

Habit would be REALLY condescending about it, too. Like “Can you even do anything without me? I'm starting to think you should let me be your eyes” levels of condescending. He’s getting on your ass for not cleaning your glasses, too. You hear, “Jesus, how do you see through those things?” CONSTANTLY. 24/7 all day every day.

Totally calls you four eyes. The childish insult cracks him up every single time without fail.

He’s the type to hide them before you go out. It always makes you late and frustrated, yet he keeps doing it. Habit won’t stop. Honestly, knowing how expensive glasses can be in America, Habit wouldn’t be above breaking them just to make you dependent until you can get a new pair. If you fall asleep with your glasses on, he is not taking them off. If anything, he is helping you roll over to smush and bend the frames against your pillow.

Having sex with your glasses on is basically immovable object vs unstoppable force. Habit really doesn’t understand why you want to keep them on. He’s got you. They’ll fall off with his pace anyway, if the position even allows for your glasses to be on in the first place. There's a risk of them snapping when your face is pressed into the pillow or when you're being smacked around.

Habit hates that they get foggy after a round or two. He likes seeing your eyes and how expressive they are, how wet they get after he’s a little heavy-handed. Even if you manage to convince him to keep them on, Habit’s plucking them from your nose and tossing them towards the bedside table after a few minutes. If they break, they break. Not his fault you’re blind.

And then there's you, who likes their vision and doesn't want to see their partner in blurry, unfocused shapes. You’re on your fourth, maybe fifth pair of glasses—Insurance long past covering repairs. You can’t even try contacts either. Habit sneaks them into the outdoor trash can while you’re sleeping and pins the blame on the cats.

Habit’s such an asshole. Someone teach him some manners.
