habit with a reader who like the chase... reader who runs out the backdoor after ticking habit off just to have him chase them down...... reader who likes being prey and will further push the dynamic... reader who gladly gets a few cuts and stabs because they like how it riles habit up... yes... thoughts? opinions? prayers?
It has become a habit (no pun intended) where people send me asks relating to the EXACT thing I am currently writing about. Am I broadcasting my computer or something???
But anyway, you are SO real.
There are definitely two sides to this: One where heās playing along and one where Habitās genuinely pissed off. He has such bad double standards when it comes to the word no. When you say it, he barely acknowledges the statement and continues to pester you beyond annoyance. But when Habit is the one saying no, heās expecting you to stop whatever youāre doing immediately. And then when you donāt, Habitās getting angry that youāre bugging him.
Those times are the more violent scenes, and more true to actual predator/prey. The ones where youāre not sure if Habitās going to stop before he kills you.
He plays dirty, without a doubt. If youāre willing to go the full mile and have a predator/prey chase scene in the Candleverse, Habit doesnāt tell you that he knows where you are at all times. He gets a kick when you try to hide, only to be yanked out of your spot and pinned to the ground, found not even ten minutes after you started running.
And if itās not in the Candleverse, Habit has every possible location you could go to mapped out and remembered in his head. He knows all sorts of shortcuts and pathways to cut you off and to scare you.
I mentioned this in 'Stuck in a Rut' and Iām also using it in an upcoming fic, but Habit doesnāt let you get the full head start he promised heād give. He could, without a doubt, count to one hundred, but he always gets bored after thirty and starts walking preemptively. Then he gets impatient and starts running, catching up to you really fast.
Is it cheating? Yes. Does Habit care? No. Complain and pout all you want; heās not changing.
And willingly getting yourself hurt for him⦠oh, donāt even get me started. Habitās licking the blood from your scrapes and cuts, nudging the healthy skin around the wound with his nose. Heās not sorry, no way in hell he would be. Itās more like aftercare than an apology.
I donāt know if you meant stabs as in actual stabs, but if youāre willing, Habitās willing. Heās plunging his knife through your hand and into the ground with little thought, or maybe clipping your heel with the blade's edge to immobilise you.
Of course, Habit enjoys it when you fight back. He also enjoys it when you submit, but itās never as sweet if there isnāt resistance beforehand. Habit + CNC + Predator/Prey Play. Iām losing my mind.
GOD SOMEBODY please let me stop lollygagging and finish AT LEAST ONE draft.
