I came up from the deep

To see it for myself

I had heard a lot about

The warmth, the light of gold

I couldn't get to sleep

So I headed to the shelf

Past the waves of doubt

The dark, the endless cold

I rise up from the depth

A long and weary ride

To try and find the sun

A sight to captivate

I swim without a breath

As through the sea I glide

My courage not undone

By the thought of what awaits

I lift up from the floor

Toward the highest roof

To gaze at the unknown

To see the brilliant waves

I reached the final door

I understand the truth

The dark, it was my home

But the light will be my grave.
