When you’re not ready to go to bed, but your dog is whining and crying wanting to go to bed... so you go upstairs an hour and a half before you really intended to.
Day Out
So, today Jackalope & I took a walk down to a local bookstore that I've been saying I want to visit for the last few weeks now. As Jackalope is trained as a service dog, I made him wear his backpack and took him into the store with me. He then carried the books I bought home. As a reward for his good behavior, I stopped at a little restaurant/cafe and we sat at an outside table.
I got a chicken sandwhich and gave him half of my meat and some of the bread. He was pumped and ready to go by the time we were done.
On the way there AND the way back, I was stopped a total of 12 times to be asked what kind of dog the Jackalope was and to be told how beautiful he was. For the record, he is an Australian Cattle Shepherd. Not an Australian Shepherd, not an Australian Cattle Dog. He is an Australian Cattle Shepherd. And yes, he is beautiful. And trust me, he is also spoiled rotten.
When we got back home, I spent the next hour and a half giving him a very thorough massage and put some lotion on his paws. He's currently curled up beside me on the couch and snoozing.
So, if any of you in Florida saw a woman walking a black and white dog wearing a backpack, that was me. How ya doin?
