In A Tight Spot || One
Kurt's eyes darted around the dark meadow. The demon, or Daeva, more specifically, moved around in the shadows, melding effortlessly into the trees. He cursed in pain as he whipped around at the feeling of a claw stroking at his arm, the action slicing a deep cut into his upper elbow. "You fucking cowardly demon. Get out of your shadows and face me, for fuck's sake!" Kurt knew there was a slim chance that he would be getting out of this alive, Daevas were only defeated with extreme light. It was currently 3am and he was stuck in the middle of a forest. If only he hadn't so thoughtlessly run straight into the woods upon hearing a scream. He'd come in, managed to distract the shadowy creature, and the terrified female ran off without so much as an "I'll call the police!" Yeah right. A thank you every now and again would be nice, he thought, cautiously turning on the spot and bracing himself for an attack.
The thing brushed against him again, teasing, he knew. He could see the faint movements of a shadow floating about too fluidly to be just an ordinary reflection of a branch. Kurt could almost hear the cackling of the demonic creature; they both knew who was winning tonight. Swiftly, he was knocked over and he found himself sprawled onto the ground, unable to move and crying out in pain as it clawed down his body. Well, I could think of worse ways to die.
