Hey there, @twice-in-a-blue-moon, I don’t know if I can explain but I will certainly try!

Basically, there was a one-on-one q&a with Misha today, where he said that, in the pre-covid finale script, he was supposed to be in a celebration at the Roadhouse in Dean’s heaven... not as Castiel, but as Jimmy Novak which is ridiculous and worse of an ending because: 1) It means Cas stayed dead/in the Empty (and thus it was ‘Bury Your Gays’), and 2) Why would JN be in Dean’s heaven? That’s ridiculous at least and cruel at worst.

But then Samantha Ferris, the actress who plays Ellen, the owner of the Roadhouse, said that nor she nor the others were ever asked to be in the pre-covid finale. Here we have a contradiction, because if there’s no Roadhouse people, there’s no Roadhouse party, right? [Oprah gif: so what’s the truth?]

(And as we know, there are very crowded scenes in the finale, so the “we had to cut crowds because of covid” excuse makes no sense)

I sure think a normal amount about how Peggy and Stan in Mad Men were not originally supposed to have a romance and how Jay Ferguson privately decided, against Matthew Weiner’s intentions, that Stan would maybe have a thing for her, and how that (maybe) (after years of subtle effort) changed their storyline.

And I also think a normal amount about how David Hyde Pierce and Jane Leeves decided between themselves, basically on a whim, before Frasier even started shooting, that it would be fun if Niles and Daphne had a Thing for each other, possibly creating the kernel of one of Thee iconic long-running will-they-won’t-they romance storylines.

And I also think about impostoradult’s meta on the spn finale & on long-running will-they-won’t-they classic tv romance storylines (of the Josh/Donna, Niles/Daphne, Mulder/Scully type) - “I finally figured out why it feels like Supernatural murdered a unicorn” - in which she says:
