Feeling kind of depressed.
Just realized that I have a pretty bad case of split ends in my hair. It extends probably half the length of my hair.
If I have to get it trimmed back, I'll lose like a year's worth of hair growth. I've just really fallen in love with the hair length I have now, and even if its for the best, I'll definitely be sad about it.
Hopefully its not as bad as it looks, and I'll wait to see what the hair salon says when I can do, but I'm feeling nervous.

Straightened my hair for the first time in years. Mainly learned that I need a haircut really badly
Fifty years ago, in Spain, my mother saw girls fix their split ends with fire. They would twist a bit of hair tightly so the ends stuck out and run a lighted match down the twist to melt any split ends. The melted tip of hair couldn’t split ever again, like a piece of nylon rope you’ve melted to keep it from fraying.
I am both tempted to try this and terrified of burning all my hair off.
