HEADCANONS → AMELIA BONES.

FIRST OFF, AMELIA WASN’T SOME PASSIVE HUFFLEPUFF BULLSHIT. from my experience, people like to make amelia this neutral party, some kind of docile sweetheart. while in my portrayal she is a hufflepuff, she’s the last person to be considered passive. i do have this whole development arc for her that i’m not going to get into today, during and post-hogwarts she was the first person to offer to be on the front lines. the first to fight, first to volunteer during training, followed by the first to offer to train others. she was BALLSY and she sure as hell wasn’t neutral during the first war. in fact, in my interpretation, she was the strategic right hand to albus in the order alongside kingsley, alastor, and sturgis. she’s head of the auror office --- leadership and greatness run through her. she may not be the type who set out to be known,  but she sure as hell accomplishes it anyway. afterall, in canon, we don’t typically meet too many female aurors --- so this bitch made herself known and accomplished in a field where women don’t seem to be valued as much. amelia bones paved her own path to success and wouldn’t let anyone discourage her otherwise.anyway, the point of this headcanon was to say that amelia wasn’t quiet, wasn’t neutral, wasn’t about to go out without a fight. there’s a reason she was personally killed by voldemort and it wasn’t just because “oh her and her casual anti-voldemort activities during the second war nbd” that’s WEAK and not doing her the justice she deserves and i actually have a post on all of this in the works so MOVING ON.

amelia is the wine aunt both literally and figuratively, like who needs coffee or tea when you have WINE is amelia’s motto. she loves moscato because it satisfies her sweet tooth. 

one of my fave things to do when developing characterizations is decide what kind of weather/natural disaster/natural anomaly they would be, so let’s tak about that a little bit. amelia is most definitely a rainstorm --- it’s an adaptable kind of weather, one that makes people feel so many varying things. it can be calming, it can be destructive, it can be anywhere in between; whether it brings a rainbow or the flood depends on circumstance and timing and i definitely hold a lot of symbolism with rain when it comes to amelia.
