I have the most amazing and caring best friend in the whole wide world

What I thought would be a casual dinner with a close friend turned into a truly refreshing experience I don't think I'll ever forget. I went to this amazing Thai restaurant called Cookie for dinner with Tash at around 7:30. The food was bloody brilliant and the beer wasn't ridiculously expensive which was a bonus. We were sitting outside the restaurant on one of their little private balconies containing a table for two and nothing else, it was really nice. When we'd finished our meal a guy came out onto our balcony and asked if we would mind if he had a cigarette there (obviously no smoking inside) and we said sure. We then proceeded to have quite possible the best conversation I've ever had sober. His name was Rowan and he was around 34, and after talking for a bit I realised that we were on the exact same intellectual level. It was so fucking refreshing to talk to someone who can hold a conversation about something of substance. We all ended up talking for a casual 3 hours or so and then parted ways. I'm glad I didn't stay home tonight.
