Back on my spinning bullshit.
Linen is made from spun flax, which comes from plant fibers. As in straw.
Spinning straw into gold wouldn’t be so much that as spinning flax into gold. And if a spinner was particularly good with dyes, maybe incorporating the color while in the process of spinning, in the right light, it might appear that someone has spun their flax into linen gold.
I promised to take a picture of this beautiful silvery yak/silk blend, and here it is.
Getting pretty close skill-wise with my spinning to where I won't have to buy anymore pre-made thread or yarn. Which is honestly pretty nice.
