I think I got the gist of the last comments in the final panel, but they were worded kind of strangely, so I’m not 100% convinced I got them right.
Also, fun fact: The Japanese word for chariot (sensha) is the same as the modern word for “tank” (as in the military war machine). The characters themselves, 戦車, literally just mean “battle vehicle”. A lot of words in Japanese are kind of amusingly literal when you break them down into the meanings of the individual characters.

Fun fact: Percival’s Japanese title that is translated into “Flame Lord” is Entei. You might recognize that name, if you’re a Pokemon fan! They both do, in fact, mean the same thing: both Percival and the Pokemon Entei are 炎帝, Entei, Lord of Flames.
Episode 1124: Spin Blade Assault

The icon on the spin blade in the last panel in the Japanese script was just 悪 (pronounced aku), the kanji character for “evil”, in a fancy font. Writing “EVIL” on the blade looked kind of silly in English, though, so rather than that I opted to write an abbreviation for the English name of this notional society, since I felt it looked better.

Episode 1080: The Gospel of the Spin Blade

In case anyone is wondering, Yuel’s English script gives her a pretty strong country-girl accent because her Japanese script gives her a similarly strong Kansai dialect, as one might find in Osaka. This is pretty standard - American English dubs of Kansai characters often have a Southern drawl as an approximation of how that might sound to Japanese listeners, especially those from somewhere like Tokyo.
Karva’s original lines didn’t make any mention of the knife game, as that isn’t a concept that would be understood by a Japanese readership - her lines instead just described the fact that she is very narrowly avoiding making contact with the spinning blade - but it occurred to me that we already have a very useful encapsulation of that concept in English, so I inserted a reference to that instead of making a direct translation.

The “Spyn Blade” line worked better in Japanese. The Japanese word for “spin blade” is supin bureido and Vyrn’s Japanese name is Bii, so Vyrn was titled subiin bureido in the original Japanese. It’s a bit of a nuisance how different Vyrn’s Japanese and English names are, considering how often Grand Blues riffs off of Vyrn’s Japanese name whenever he does his shapeshifting thing.
I will take credit for the “sharp” pun, though! The original Japanese just described it as “stylish” or “fashionable”, whereas the fact that “sharp” in English can mean either “stylish” or “cuts things easily” made this an obvious English-only joke to make.
the appeal of spinnah is that he looks like the coolest motherfucker ever and then he opens his mouth and you discover he’s actually a huge dork who’s ultra passionate about his special interest. he’s got that gap moe appeal.
