Let Me Help (Stark!Reader)
Word Count:1135
Warnings: really nothing
Requested by @choosetoalwayslivitup â Maybe after patrol, reader and Peter return to Stark Tower and the reader stitches Peter up? But then Peter notices the reader needs help too, so he offers to fix her injuries? â
Main Masterlist
MCU Masterlist
Hey if you have any ficlet slots still open, may I request one for Raimi Peter Parker x Fem!Reader? The reader and Peter have always admired each other from afar while in high school but never have had the courage to approach each other. After graduation, the reader decides to become a firefighter and runs into Peter again, not knowing that he's Spider-Man whom she's already met while on duty. Peter and the reader end up dating and fall for each other to the point where Peter is thinking about proposing. But things end badly for them when the reader dies like this in the line of duty with Spider-Man not being able to save her. I'm sorry for the bad ending but I live for the angst! đ
Hi, sweetie! I might soften the angst a little bit, especially about the death part, but other than that I really like this idea and I have added it to my writing list! Since I feel like Raimi's Spiderman is a less popular fandom, though... can I ask that you reblog when it's up, please? It would help me out a lot! Thank you so much, and for requesting as well!
THERE ARE ONLY 2 FICLET SLOTS LEFT!!
Old Friend
request: Hi love! Would you mind writing an imagine with peter Parker where the avengers rescue you from HYDRA and youâre the same age as peter and he remembers you from when yâall were kids and so do you and he helps you deal with the trauma and yâall fall in love?
pairing:Â Peter Parker x Reader (!!reader and peter both 17 in this fic!!)
word count:Â 1700
warnings: fluuuuuuuff. mentions of captivity, medical torture and hella anxiety + ptsd. but FLUUUUUUUFF.
authorâs note: After almost a week of writerâs block and 0 content, I gift to you all, an Easter miracle: two fics in one day.Â
In all seriousness, thank you heaps to anon for the request, this was a sweet one to write for and I hope I did your vision justice! We love wholesome Spidey content in this household. ~ Toria <3
The first thing you became aware of, as you slipped back into consciousness, was the sensation of movement. Not the usual, fluid motion of the gurney you would be strapped to on your way to the main medical auditorium. No, this time, you were being carried.
Carried? Why on earth would they be carrying me?
You were unaware of falling unconscious once more until the second time you managed to fight your way through the familiar haze of sedative-induced sleep. Now, you could make out a blur of unfamiliar voices around you as the movement continued, making a wave of particularly aggressive nausea wash over you.
â⊠Another Hydra experimentâŠâ
â⊠Get her to the TowerâŠâ
â⊠Fading fastâŠâ
You half-giggled to yourself, lost in a sea of euphoria and confusion. You remembered now; you were a lab rat. Hydraâs new plaything. Nothing more than a weapon to be poked, prodded and shaped by your captors.
Your bleary eyes fluttered open just long enough to make out shapes and faces. There was a shock of red and gold to your left, and a flash of blonde above you. You vaguely noted the change of scenery as the sound of footsteps on metal rung out around you, and what might have been an engine started off in the distance.
âY/N!?â
The last thing you heard before the comforting darkness washed over you once more, taking you under, was a familiar voice, calling out to you from afar, stirring up memories you were unaware you still had the capacity to reach.
⊠PeterâŠ
the first time
pairing: peter parker x reader
request number twenty three:Â can i request this where itâs the reader and peter parkerâs first time doing it but they get caught by aunt may?
warnings: itâs smut but itâs cute :)
notes: hope you donât mind that itâs a headcanon! again thanks to @thotgomery for the format (and check her peter stuff out cause theyâre really great and inspired this)
also give me feedback! love that

Warmth.
The first thing you felt. The warmth from the sunlight beaming in through the window. The warmth of the blankets you were nestled under. The warmth from the body wrapped around yours.
Opening your eyes slowly, you could see the mess of hair on the pillow next to you. A faint smile crossed your lips as you rubbed your tired eyes and snuggled further into the body next to you, eliciting a sleepy moan. Peterâs arms tightened around you and you let out a breathy laugh.
âPeter,â your voice was raspy, sending your boyfriend crazy. âYouâre gonna be late.â
âI donât care,â his eyes remained closed, as if he was grasping on to his last few minutes of sleep. He pressed his face further into the pillow, breathing deeply.
âIâm gonna be late,â you leaned into him, taking in his scent. These were your favourite types of mornings, waking up beside him, enjoying each otherâs presence.
Peter groaned, stretching his arms dramatically. You giggled, watching him as he almost fell out of the bed. He opened his eyes slowly and looked over you, taking in your semi-conscious appearance. He smiled down at you and leaned over to place a kiss on your cheek. You smiled back up at him, sitting up to face him.
âIâm going to shower,â he announced, standing drowsily and trying to even his balance. You watched him as he padded through your bedroom towards the bathroom, and sighed as he closed the door behind him. You heard the water turn on and stood slowly, moving towards your wardrobe. Rifling through your clothes, you eventually decided on a pair of leggings and an old t-shirt. Putting them on quickly, you sat back down on the bed and grabbed your phone from your bedside table. Clicking it on, the time appeared before you.
âShit,â you stood and sprinted over to the bathroom door. âPeter! Itâs 7:45, you might want to hurry up.â
A series of crashes were the only response, before Peter opened the door, Â dripping wet in only a towel. âCrap.â
You ran over to your drawers, grabbing some of Peterâs clothes that had been left there, tossing them towards him as he hurried to dry his hair. He threw them on instantly, droplets of water still dotted across his skin.
âIâll grab something to eat on the way,â he rushed past you, grabbing his backpack and giving you a quick kiss. âIâll see you after school!â
He opened the window and flung himself out of it. A breath caught in your throat, only releasing when you saw him swinging down the block. You couldnât help but let out a laugh as you turned, then noticed his Midtown sweater lying on the floor. Walking over, you picked it up and considered it in your hands. On multiple occasions Peter had left it here and had returned throughout the day to pick it up, so this was pretty normal. Tying it around your waist you dismissed your thoughts and headed towards the lab.
Working with your father was an interesting experience. The time that wasnât spent deciphering some complex equations was passed arguing and screaming due to your clashing personalities. Everyone said that you were too alike, âthereâs too much Tony in youâ, but you knew it was because you both wanted to do the right thing and your opinions conflicted on what the right thing was.
You threw open the door to the lab and found Bruce working at a large screen. He glanced up quickly, giving you a small smile before going back to his work. You had learnt over time that leaving Bruce to work whilst he was in the zone was the best way to go about any social interaction. You didnât want to risk him losing his train of thought, as he was often assisting your father with something important. You continued through the lab until you found Tony sitting at a computer, coffee cup in hand.
âI didnât think coffee was really your thing,â you joked, sitting in the chair next to him.
âUsually itâs not,â he turned to look at you, crossing his legs. âBut Iâve been looking at this damn code for so long I think Iâm actually going crazy.â
âLet me have a look,â you turned the screen to face you, flicking back up to the start. âWhatâs the issue?â
âIt keeps giving me random numbers, canât figure out why. Equations are all good, checked the values and everything with Bruce. I canât get it,â he stood, stretching his legs and walking in small circles, a hologram appearing containing various bits of data.
âOh,â you said, your eyebrows raised. âItâs here, youâre missing a bracket. Syntax error.â
The look Tony gave you could have moved planets, you had never seen someone look more shocked and simultaneously confused.
âWhat?â he sat down again, pulling the screen towards him. âWell then, I think itâs clear where you got your brains from.â He leaned back in the chair, taking a swig of coffee.
âYâknow, itâs pretty normal for stuff like that to slip by. Itâs like 7 in every 10 times thereâs an issue, itâs probably syntax,â you smiled, voicing your Stark sarcasm. Despite not inheriting many of Tonyâs appearances, you definitely had the same sense of humour. Running the program, you saw the data appear on the hologram and Tonyâs eyes lit up like christmas lights.
âWhatâs next?â you smiled, feeling proud of yourself.
âBruce is working on a prototype of an anti-gravity device, but we need some stuff picking up. Could you run out for us?â he looked across at the grimace on your face, then added to his point. âYou can get food.â
âSold, to the man with the glowing chest,â you stood up, exaggerating your point at your father. He tossed you a credit card and you shoved it in your pocket. âWhat do you need?â
âIâll get FRIDAY to send it to you, itâs just some simple materials. Shouldnât be too hard to find. Take Happy with you, he seems to be getting comfortable downstairs,â Tony glanced across at you, a smile on his face. âThank you for this.â
You sent a smile to your father, then turned towards the elevator.
âFRIDAY? Bottom floor, please,â you spoke, easing at the familiar voice in response.
âOf course Miss, Iâll send the list from Mr Stark and Dr Banner to your cell phone.â
âThanks.â
Upon reaching the bottom floor, you saw Happy outside the front door waiting. You strolled over and pushed open the large, glass door. âGood morning Happy!â
âI see someone was here this morning,â Happy looked up from his phone, giving you one of his signature looks.
âI donât know what youâre talking about-â
âThe longer this goes on, the more trouble itâs going to be when the boss finds out.â
âI know, Happy. I get it, Iâll sort it,â you opened the car door and jumped in, Happy doing the same in the driverâs seat. âDowntown is probably our best bet, and Iâve heard thereâs a really good churro place.â
âPeter,â Ned called down the hallway as Peter sped towards him. âDude, youâre late for Chem and Mr Cobwell is in a bad mood.â
âShit,â Peter muttered, pulling his backpack further up his back. âWhat do I do?â
âI got you bro, I told him you were at the nurse.â
âNed, I owe you. Big time,â Peter finally allowed himself to breathe, leaning over to place his hands on his knees. âWhatâs next period?â
âGym,â Ned replied. âI heard theyâre gonna put one of those Captain America videos on again.â
âGym, okay. Wait-â
âPeter, just come sleep,â you spoke softly, reaching your arms out from underneath the blankets. âItâs nice and cozy.â
âBut what if your dad comes in?â
âFRIDAY,â you looked towards the ceiling. âTell me if dad comes anywhere near the hallway, please. Wake me up if Iâm asleep?â
âOf course, Miss.â
âThank you!â you turned back towards Peter. âIâm starting to think you just wanted an excuse.â
âOf course not,â Peter smiled down at you, leaning across to take your hand in his. âJust let me take these off.â
He leaned back to unbutton his jeans and remove them quickly, before taking off his sweater, throwing it across the room.
âShit, I left it at (Y/N)âs,â Peter spoke to himself, louder than he had realised.
â(Y/N)? Like (Y/N) Stark?â Nedâs voice rose alongside his enthusiasm
âShhhh!â Peter pulled his friend into a hallway. âOkay, yes, (Y/N) Stark. But you canât tell anyone. I mean anyone. Not even MJ.â
âOh, okay,â Ned nodded, confident in his ability to keep a secret whilst Peter felt the exact opposite.
âI think I have a spare shirt in my locker,â Peter trailed off, stepping towards the row of lockers in the corridor.
Driving towards Brooklyn was a calming experience. You sat with your legs up on the dashboard, the window slightly open so that your hair blew out of your face. Your phone was tucked into your pocket and you had received the list of materials.
âWhere can we get anti-static acrylic?â you looked across at Happy, who was fully focused on the road ahead. If it had been anyone else he would have made them sit in the back, but you had known Happy since you were a kid. He was like an uncle to you, most of the team were family at this point.
âThereâs a store in Brooklyn, they stock all kinds of obscure materials. Weâll head there,â he replied without looking at you and you turned to watch outside your window.
As the car pulled up in front of the store, you grabbed a worn-down cap and a pair of sunglasses from the glovebox. You glanced towards Happy, noticing how his phone was instantly in his hand, before opening the door and hurrying into the building. Recently the press had been more interested in you, wanting to ask you about your father and his new apprentice, Spiderman. You had known Peterâs alter ego since the beginning, but it had taken you by surprise when the first paparazzi had asked you about him. You had stumbled over your words, which was strange because you had inherited your fatherâs cool when talking to strangers. It was safest to try and avoid the paps, for fear of spilling something about Peter or your relationship. That would be difficult to explain to your father.
The store was cold, sending a shiver down your spine as you stepped in. You glanced around before deciding to speak to an employee. Removing your sunglasses, you headed towards a young woman wearing a store shirt.
âHi, I was wondering if you could help me find some materials?â you asked politely, smiling softly.
âSure- Oh my god, youâre (Y/N) Stark,â the employee looked at you with wide eyes. You cursed internally, maintaining the smile on your face.
âUh, yeah,â you chuckled.
âOf course I can help, what are you looking for?â you could hear the nervous waver in her voice.
âSome anti-static acrylic and polarizing film, if you have some?â you continued your confident act despite the defeat that lingered behind your eyes. You knew exactly how this was going to end.
âLet me go have a look in the back, Iâll only be a few minutes,â the girl rushed off, stumbling over her own feet.
You wandered the store when you shivered again. You ran your hands across your arms before remembering the sweater tied around your waist. Untying it, you pulled it on over your t-shirt. Your arms were immediately grateful, the goosebumps that had covered your skin fading away. You had been browsing for a few minutes when you felt your phone vibrate in your pocket.
Paps outside, must have found out weâre here - Happy
Opening Twitter on your phone you instantly saw your name trending, the account at the top belonging to the store employee.
âHi, sorry to keep you waiting,â a familiar voice returned. You looked up to see the employee. âIâve got your acrylic and film.â
She held out a bag to you and you glanced in to check the contents.
âThanks,â you smiled, still trying to hide your annoyance. She followed you across to the tills where you pressed your fatherâs credit card to the card machine before leaving quickly.
The second you stepped outside, your sight was invaded with flashing lights and your ears bombarded with shouts. You swiftly put your sunglasses on and made a bee-line for the car.
âHowâs Tony?â
âHave you spoken to Spiderman?â
âWhere did you get your sweater?â
Crap.
âDid you see the new pictures of Starkâs kid? Sheâs wearing our sweater!â Peter overheard a group of girls talking as he headed towards the gymnasium. He immediately pulled out his phone, heading to social media and seeing the pictures of you flash onto his screen.
âIs that your sweater?â Ned peered over his shoulder before Peter brushed him away.
âWho elseâs could it be?â Peter racked his brain for an excuse to use in gym class.
As the two boys entered the changing room the subject of conversation continued from one social group to another.
âYeah, sheâs wearing a Midtown sweater.â
âWhere did she get it?ââI donât know, but sheâs fit.â
Peterâs blood boiled at the way the boys spoke about you, he wanted nothing more than to stick them against the wall.
âYo, what are you looking at Parker?â one of the jocks was staring Peter down, who hadnât realised he had been staring in the first place.
âI- uh- nothing,â Peter backed away, towards where Ned had began to change. He reached into his locker, pulling out a pair of yellow shorts and a white shirt. âAll I got. Shit.â
âDude, itâll be fine. Coachâll mention it like once, then youâre fine,â Ned spoke, pulling on his sweater.
Peter and Ned entered the gym with their classmates, Peter sticking out like a sore thumb.
âParker,â Coach Wilson yelled. âGet over here. Whereâs your kit?â
âSorry Sir, itâs in- in the laundry,â Peter stuttered, looking up at his coach.
âWoah, coincidence. You have that Stark internship, right? Did you lend your sweater to (Y/N) Stark?â Flash yelled out from the bleachers, high-fiving his friends.
âI mean, Iâve never-â
âItâs funny that you have that internship, but youâve never met Stark or his daughter? Come on,â Flash taunted, pride painted across his face.
âI, uh-â
âHeâs met her!â Ned yelled out, standing from his seat on the bleachers. Turning on his heels, Peterâs face flushed red as he glared at his friend.
âIâm not supposed to talk about it,â he spoke sternly. If looks could kill, Ned would be flat on the ground.
âWell then,â Flash spun around, ever the entertainer. âWhy not just ask her for your sweater back?â
âI canât- itâs not. Itâs not mine.âThe room went silent as Peterâs phone began to ring from his pocket. Lifting it to his ear slowly and giving a quick glance to Coach Wilson, he pressed the answer button.
âHello?â
âHey, itâs (Y/N),â Peter flinched at the name, fully aware everyone else in the gym could hear as it bounced from wall to wall. âI was out and I had your sweater and the press got pictures and now theyâve all blown up online. Iâm really sorry, I didnât mean for any of this-âThe panic in your voice was clear, which worried Peter. He had seen you this way only a few times before, he was much more used to the confident, upbeat (Y/N).
âHey, donât worry about it. I think theyâve kind of figured it out already,â he turned away from the bleachers, exiting the gym and lowering his voice.
âAre you in class? Sorry, I should have texted.ââNo, itâs fine. Wait, what about your dad?â
Peter heard you curse under your breath.
âIâm gonna go talk to him. God I hope he hasnât seen the pictures yet.â
âHasnât he seen you with it before?â
âNot the logo. I need to go, I need to hurry. Iâll let you know if itâs safe to come by after school.ââOkay, I love you.â
âI love you too,â despite everything going on, Peter could hear you smile through the phone.
Re-entering the gym, all eyes were on Peter.
âSo, Parker. How does one get a Stark internship?â
You rushed towards the lab, carrier bag in hand. Throwing open the door you placed the bag on a desk next to Bruce and continued through to where you had left your father this morning. He was sat in an almost identical position, staring at the computer screen in front of him. Walking over slowly, you could see the pictures of you on the screen.
âHey,â you spoke quietly, your hands shaking slightly with anxiety.
âSo, Iâm assuming itâs Peterâs sweater? Is this just all blown out of proportion?â he looked up at you, radiating a sense of understanding.
âI mean, itâs his. He left it here. This morning,â your eyes darted to the ground, your brain running wild with possible reactions. Most of them bad.
âHow long has this been happening?â your father seemed calm, which unsettled you. You had expected him to be annoyed, angry even.
âA few months, pretty much since he came here the first time,â you rubbed your hands together, doing anything to avoid Tonyâs gaze.
âDamn,â he leaned back in his chair, putting his hands behind his head. âAnd I didnât notice the whole time? I must be getting old.ââYouâre not mad?â you looked up, your eyebrows furrowing together.
âYou know what I was like before you came along, right?â he glanced across at you. You shook your head in response, you didnât speak much of his life before you.
âWell, I was much worse than you kiddo,â he laughed to himself. âDoes he make you happy?â
âYes,â you exhaled, letting out a breathy laugh.
âThen Iâm happy,â Tony stood and walked across to you, wrapping an arm around your shoulders. He pressed a kiss to the top of your head and smiled down at you. âNow, did you get our stuff?â
a/n - I really hope you liked it! I had a lot of fun writing this one, it ended up quite dialogue heavy but I think itâs okay!! sending love <3

Part 1 Â Part 2Â Â Part 4
âHelloooo? Earth to PeterâŠâ Liz summoned Peter from his deep thoughts about what Flash could possibly try to do tonight to âwow youâ. He jerked his head toward her, off his propped up forearm.
âSorry,â he stammered. âWhat were you saying again?â
âI was just asking what you got for number four âcause my equation looks different from yoursâŠâ Liz looked at him with concern. âAre you okay?â she whispered.
âHm? Yeah yeah, no yeah Iâm good,â he squeaked. Crap he thought.
âAre you sure, Peter? Because youâve beenââ
âLiz, Iâm fine,â he snapped. She withdrew a little, eyebrows still furrowed with worry. Peter immediately regretted speaking so sharply; he knew she was only worried and wasnât trying to be annoying. But every time he was with her he felt guilty. He would spend the entire time in her company trying to force himself to not feel that way, or at least figure out why; but he just couldnât.
âOkay, come on,â she grabbed ahold of Peterâs wrist firmly and led them away from their library table.
âWhatâwhereâre we going?â
Liz led them up the stairs, through the science wing, up the narrow fire escape stairway, until they finally hit open air. She leaned back on an AC unit, and even though her arms were crossed, her face was soft and expectant.
âLook, I know Iâm not supposed to push and stuff if you donât want to tell me whatâs going on,â she began. âBut, Peter, you gotta give me something! You have to talk to me.â
âWâWhat?â he stammered. âWe are talking, what do you mean I donât want to tell you whatâs going on? Nothingâs going onâŠâ
Liz cocked her head at him, âNothing going on? Peter, you havenât been yourself lately, and itâs making me kinda worried.â
Peter hung his head. The last time he had a conversation about him not being himself still stung potent in his mind. The last thing he wanted now was for this discussion to end up like the last one.
âIâm sorry I havenât been myself lately,â he pleaded. âI justâŠÂ honestly just⊠I⊠I donât know whatâs going on with me, like Iâm trying to figure it out but I just canât andââ Peter faltered when he saw Lizâs eyes. The worry was hidden behind a deep sadness that he didnât even know could be seen through someoneâs eyes. âWhat?â he shakily asked.
âI know whatâs going on with you, Peter,â Liz whispered. âAnd I think you know it too, but you donât want to admit it. God, this sucks,â she muttered. She glanced up, blinking rapidly, trying to put back the tears that were forming against her will. âBut thatâs what makes you all the more so⊠so⊠so good and this so fucking hard.â
Peter couldnât even speak. He could feel his old friend, guilt, clawing up his stomach and latching onto his chest. He knew what was coming, and he knew why, but he didnât want to believe it. Part of him wanted what was coming too, but not like this. No, this was going to hurt too much.
Liz took a shaky breath, âI know you havenât been hanging around Ned and (Y/N) as much. I know you and (Y/N), had like this⊠this falling out kinda thing. I know you havenât been the same since that. I know you see me differently now, even though you try so hard to fight against it and not show it, and for that, Peter, thank you. Because I know that thatâs so hard to do.
âBut I also know how you look at herâdonât feel guilty; you canât help it. You know you canât keep a secret to save your life. Itâs also just one of those things no one can help or hide. Iâve seen the way you look at her, Peter. Itâs okay,â she uncrossed her arms and gripped Peterâs shoulders. His eyes were welling up as well, no matter how hard he clenched his throat or bit his lip. âThat way you look at her, Peter? You used to look at me just like that, when you thought I wouldnât notice. Well, there was less sadness in your eyes then, but considering all things nowâŠâ
Peter regretted that what she was saying was true. It was every little thing that had gone through his mind these past couple weeks, but refused to truly believe. He wished it didnât have to be like this. There had to have been some other way this couldâve played out where no one was crying, where no one was regretting anything.
The only thing he could muster out was a small, âIâm sorryâŠâ
Liz pulled him into a hug. For the first time in weeks, this one didnât feel empty. Peter didnât feel distant or like he wanted it to be over so it wouldnât feel awkward. This was a hug he didnât want to step away from because it felt real.
âI know,â she whispered. âBut I donât want to be part of the reason youâre not happy.â They stood there, softly holding each other for what they knew was probably the last time. âI just regret not asking sooner. I canât imagine what it must be like, carrying that around with you all this timeâŠâ
âYou donât deserve this,â Peter mumbled into her hair. He felt her exhale a chuckle.
âYeah, but,â she pulled away, looking down, âlife isnât really about deserving, is it?â
Peter echoed her movements, anxiously twiddling his fingers as Liz began to walk back to the exit.
âJust promise me, you guysâll both figure it out, okay?â she called back. Peter looked up at her, forcing himself to nod. Lizâs lips pursed into a bittersweet smile, and she turned and shut the door behind her, leaving a physically, mentally, and emotionally numb Peter.
Sightings of Spiderman had doubled within these last few weeks, and the crime rate dropping by nearly the same amount. Many were applauding his productivity, wondering how Queenâs local hero had become so efficient and driven lately.
But you and Ned knew why. It was his distraction. Like those Flash dates had been for you. At least Peterâs was more constant and fulfilling than just your two hours every week.
It wasnât like the hot air balloon lunch upstate wasnât completely distracting, or the early screening of some new movie Flash was into (seriously impressive, you had to admit). They worked, but just for a short while. And once you really thought about it, you found that you felt worse afterward than you did before. You were just reminded of how you were trying oh so hard to forget the main reason you were doing those dates in the first place. It was like how you try so hard to forget something that you end up having it come to mind more.
Once Peter and Liz ended things, it didnât stop your pain. But it did make you realize what you were doing was pointless. So you ended it. Not like Flash cared much anyway. But why make Peter suffer anymore than he was already. He didnât need the weight of seeing you with Flash, added on to his guilt and sadness from Liz, crushing him more.Â
âSo what do you wanna watch now?â Ned asked, scrolling through the menu.
âIâm cool with anything really.â
As he selected âFerris Bullerâs Day Offâ, he passed you the popcorn bowl. âSo⊠have you talked to Peter yet?â he tried to ask lightly and casually.
You sighed, âYou know I havenât.â
Ned turned to you, his voice dropping into a more serious tone. âI think itâs about time you guys face this head on, you know? Confront it. Confront him. Well maybe not confront him, but at least talk to himââ
âHonestly, Ned, I think Iâm just gonna feel a whole lot shittier if I do that.â
âWell I canât keep being the mediator between you two! Honestly I always feel like I have to evenly split my time between you two, running from one end of school to the other just to hang with my two best friends, who donât even want to talk to each other!â
âYou know you donât have to do that, Ned.â
âI know but I do anyway. âCause I love you guys and if I can do anything to help you guys be happy, I will! So, thatâs why Iâm saying you guys need to talk.â
âI donât even know if heâs ready, you know? To talk? I mean itâs only been like what? Two weeks since, you know... Thatâs not that longââ
âPretty sure he is now.â
ââPretty sureâ?â
Ned glanced up from his phone. âAlmost positive,â he assured.
You stared at the floor, contemplating whether it was worth it to or not to reopen that wound. You knew you both knew that you had hurt the other. What you didnât know was whether you were ready to admit why. Why you were hurt in the first place, why you hurt him in return.
Suddenly the bed lurched as Ned leapt off of it, jerking you out of your head. âSorry, I uhâ,â he stumbled to shove his feet back in his shoes. ââI gotta go, I just remembered my mom set a new curfew, so⊠yeah.â
âWhat?â your brows furrowed. âSince when?â
âSince now, apparently?â
âWhat?â
âSorry, (Y/N)! Enjoy Ferris Buller without me, Iâll see you Monday!â he sped out your door.
âOkayâŠ? Bye?â
As your front door slammed shut with a loud BANG, you pulled out your phone and texted Ned to let you know when he got home. Reading the clockâs display of 10:41, you found it odd that Ned would suddenly barge out like that. You figured you could interrogate him on it back in school, so you laid back and started to scroll through your phone. As early as it was, you found yourself dozing off. Your eyes had just fluttered closed whenâ
*tap tap tap*
You bolted up, eyelids heavy, not sure if you had really heard it. Grabbing the remote, you shut the TV and listened again. Nothing. Beside you, your phone buzzed and you read Nedâs message.
You up still? it read.
Yeah why???? you replied.
No later had you hit the send button did you hear the window tapping again. You were sure it was real this time, and your body automatically responded faster than your mind did. Throwing the curtains back and raising the window, your heart beat up to your brain. You had no idea where this was going to take you. As you saw those fluffy brown curls amongst the scarlet and blue, your breath caught.
âHey.â
