bare in mind that the original picture i got off the generator is a starting point; owing to its limitations, the monstery/more inhuman traits i like can’t be represented, and I will probably change these designs as I mess around with their concepts more.

here is the original pic i am using as a starting point:

basic concept: they are aberrant, mutant Gems (and one sidekick who has the One Braincell) created by Autobot researchers attempting to find a workaround the destructive method Gems reproduce. Ultimately the project didn’t have results they wanted, but these gals were born from it. They have since become a group of intersteallar superheroes who go around as a band of muisciians playing rock music, doing beloved concerts on thousands of worlds and fighting villains and solving mysteries off the clock. imagine a combination of scooby-doo and Teen Titans, but doing music for a living, and you got the idea

as a result of them not being normal Gems, they exist outside the usual Gem caste boundaires and do not have the functions or purpose of regular Gems. Thus, they look very diferent from other Gems of their type, and have entirely different abilities. Energon was a vital component in their creation, and its mutagenic effects have created unusual effects.

From left to right:

Volcanic Obsidian: the main character, in a sense, and the Big Mom of the group. The gem trio are all Mom Tier personalities and superheroines, but she is the most powerful and the most obvious example. She is absolutely massive, having absorbed enormous amounts of materials to grow itno a far larger gem than expected. Is NOT a fusion, she’s just unusually big. Is rather gloomy and introspective, and takes all the burdens on her own shoulders. (in proper art, would be super thicc.) Probably has mild monstery traits. When she gets fired up, she can create lava from her body and manipulate in various ways, and she cries lava as well, though it is only dangerous to things she wants to harm. Compassionate, sweet (though she’s usually too mellow to make it obvious), she’s a natural leader even though she thinks little of herself. Very affectionate to smaller beings!

Emerald: She knows she’s hot shit, and she’s damn sure YOU will know how damn awesome she is. Just look at that grin, she knows what’s up. A badass lady, showboat and born to totally own the stage, she has a very punkish ‘SCREW YOU, COME AT ME!!!’ sense of bravado. VERY intelligent and good at pretty much anything she does, she has a sense of purpose as the team’s technician. Tends to propose the schemes, and they’re usually kinda bonkers! Very supportive, in her own shouty way. (Her proper design should probably be pretty bottom heavy.) Can convert her magical energies into a liquid form she can shape into various constructs, at the cost of weakening herself overall.

Shpalerite: She is the smallest one but she is still VERY wide for her size, not so much overcooked as heavily compressed, and she’s actually a heavier hitter than anyone but Volcanic Obsidian. She’s quite extroverted, in a strange mixture of ‘peppy’ and ‘boisterous bruiser’; she kicks ass, tosses cars around, and then flexes, blowing smooches at any bystanders. She’s cheerfully a meathead, and charges headlong with a confident smile. She has a LOT of self-image based around being a hero, and has opinions on proper heroic behavior. She can absorb magic into her body and make herself even stronger, with an armored form that resembles shaped crystal; however this form is very heavy and difficult to move, so she flows in an out of it for different attacks.

Squishy: Not actually a human; she was originally intended as a size comparison placeholder, but has become a permanent member. In her proper concept, she is a slime/ooze alien, able to shapeshift in a variety of wyas (though she cannot change her substance). Open-hearted and idolizing them, she is a recent member of the group and looks up to them all, and serves as a stabilizing influence. Despite her relative lack of power, she keeps them grounded and is the only one with real common sense. Her powres are based around raw biomass; the more she has, the stronger she is, but she burns through it whenever she transforms herself, typically by compressing her body to make armor or defense-breaking attacks. In her default state, her body is fluid but very firm, hence her nickname!

Squishy: The baseline to compare them from. At a human height, at 5′7.

Sphalerite: 5′0. smoll but wide!

Emerald: 7 ft-ish.
