Imagine figuring out who the killer is before the rest of your team, including Spencer Reid.
“You’ve got that look,” Morgan said, peering over at you from behind his phone.
“You’ve got a theory?” Gideon asked, moving forward in his seat to look at you. You had all eyes on yours now, while you were coming out of your reverie. There was something about this case that was getting your wheels turning. You were a little reluctant to share in case you could be wrong but Spencer Reid, sitting beside you, gave you an encouraging nudge and a nod. You sighed and began to speak.
“I think that the stalker might be a woman,” You admitted to all of them. “When it comes to beautiful women, we tend to go straight towards the men as being the stalkers, but - that girl Maggie, Lila’s assistant. Her body language during this whole thing. I know we’re looking at her manager right now but who else would have that much access to Lila’s life?”
It seemed to dawn on them, something that they hadn’t thought about before. They had been following the trails that lead to the men, and it was this sort of sexist thinking that might be letting a killer get away with their crimes right under their noses. Morgan called Garcia. Gideon fell into thought.
“It’s a good theory,” Spencer whispered to you, making you smile ever so slightly despite the subject matter. “I think you might be right. Good job.”
Morgan would push him to buy you a drink once the case was over, once you were proven right. Your hunches usually were. That’s why you were good at this job. And you obviously accepted the invitation from your superior, getting to know him as slightly more than a mentor that night.
