September 26, 1985... Soyuz T-13 returned to Earth! After 112 days onboard the Salyut-7 space station, veteran cosmonaut & Soyuz T-13 commander Vladimir Dzhanibekov returned to Earth together with Soyuz T-14 cosmonaut Georgi Grechko who resided only 8 days onboard the modern Soviet-Russian space station. Dzhanibekov wore his Omega Speedmaster 125 chronograph during three spaceflight missions (Soyuz T-6, T-12 & T-13) so this automatic chronograph accumulated 131 days in space. The Omega Speedmaster 125 chronograph came out in 1973 to celebrate the 125th anniversary of the brand. In April 1991, cosmonaut Dzhanibekov returned this 131 days space-flown “Speedmaster 125″ to the Omega museum in Bienne - Switzerland where it has been on display next to other space-flown Speedmaster chronographs. Note the unmistakable profile of the Automatic Speedmaster 125 hanging on Dzhanibekov’s left inner wrist while a doctor took his pulse. Cosmonaut Georgi Grechko wore an Elektronika 5-series quartz wristwatch. (Photo: RKA/TASS)
