GAN460M V2 4x4 vs MoYu AoSu V7 4x4
After many hours of adjusting both cubes, and many frustrating solves, I have decided which 4x4 is better for me. And the answer is...
I'm sorry; I have tried; I have poured hours upon hours, lube after lube into the MoYu AoSu V7 4x4 Triple-Track and it was still...not good. It was slow! It was unpleasant to turn! Why? Why can't my fastest lube save this cube? It's supposed to be the best, yet I prefer the Double-Track version; that's supposed to be the second best, yet I prefer the GAN460M V2.
The GAN460M V2 is notorious for its poor performance, the lack of corner cutting, the catchy outer layers; It's not a forgiving cube. It gives me a hard time. As for the feel, however, I'm embarrassed to admit it: I can't get enough of this cube. It is so satisfying to turn, to grip, to look at. The colors are much more vibrant, the pieces much more rounded. The small amount of factory lube was all I needed, no extra set-up. And lastly, the slightly bigger size, 60mm, is better for my larger hands than the 58mm AoSu V7 is.
I'm fully aware that this decision reflects my needs and nobody else's. Handfeel matters more to me than it does to most, and I have a certain fixation on the handfeel of GAN cubes. I still recommend the MoYu AoSu V7 4x4 if you're on a budget or simply don't have accurate turning.
