Full Spectrum
As a student, I am all too familiar with the relief experienced when you hand in a final paper or answer that last question on a final exam. It’s blissful freedom, for a moment, until the next deadline comes along.
I’m nearing the end of a fashion merchandising program at the John Casablanca Institute, in Vancouver, B.C., and I have to say, I am actually really excited for my final project. It’s not the typical exam, or written paper. My class, class FAD151, is putting on a fashion show.
The show is appropriately called “Spectrum”, as it represents the wide spectrum of ideas, creativity, and personalities within the class. We have carefully selected every detail of the show, which is turning out to be one inspired by prisms and geometric shapes, seen in colours of iridescence and pastel.
Over the last 6 weeks, the Spectrum vision has evolved into something beyond my expectations and I can’t wait to bring all of the unique elements together for the final hurrah. It’s shaping up to be an interesting, impressionable show, showcasing the full spectrum of the colourful characters behind it.
The show is taking place at 7pm, Tuesday, March 8th at Performance Works on Granville Island. Here is the link to the facebook page for more info.
